If I could earn a living doing what I love most I would be a zoological architect. I would use my career to teach people about the unique relationship we have with the earth and all its inhabitants. Becoming an architect takes time and dedication. There are many different design avenues that students take to arrive at their own unique career. My path started off with a passion for caring for many different types of animals and using my artistic abilities to create habitats for them. Somewhere along the way this passion merged with my studies in architecture and a spark ignited. A mere hobby was forming into a dream career and I could see that I needed a plan to make it my reality. Now that I’m enrolled at IIT I’m moving along my path and getting closer to my degree. Not only will I study architecture but landscape architecture as well. I know that at the end of the day, when I close the text book and head home, my own little urban zoo will be waiting for me. All the colors and animals gleam and I know that I have learned almost as much from them as I have in the class room. I know I will make it all come together. I will bring that feeling of a connection, a passion and understanding for animals to the world. I will build on a larger scale and give these creatures room to thrive in harmony with us.
