I plan to major in sociology and minor either Music or Creative Writing or Accounting. I will also do a work study on the campus and also work another job outside the campus to support myself. During my years in college, I plan to be in the choir program and missions program and drama program. During the summers, I plan to internships that are required in the field of which I am studying. I will also teach piano and sell my poems to newspapers and magazines. I will work at any job that I can get. I plan to be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. The desire in my life is to help children in any way I can. If I get this scholarship, I will be one step closer to help brighten the minds of children and to be a positive influence on them. If I just help but one child then my hard work will be worth it all. Children are the future and I personal believe that children deserve the best teacher that we can offer them. I want to be that teacher that helps make a difference. Everyone has one chance to make a difference and I plan to make my shot count. I may not receive fame or glory or riches from the field of which I am called to do but I will be a success because I will be giving children a chance of a better future. I know these special educated children need good teachers because I was a special educated child. I couldn’t talk or hear until I was seven years olds. Without my special education teacher, I wouldn’t be the person that I am today or I wouldn’t be able to go to college like I am now. I want to be able to do the same for children who are just like me. I want to give them hope that they can overcome their disabilities and to be whatever they want to be and that they can reach their dreams with hard work. It is not impossible because Albert Einstein was considered a special educated child. In fact, the school told his mother that he was too stupid and that he cannot be taught. His mother took him out of school and today he is considered the smartest man in the world. Those kids need a teacher who won’t give up because it is difficult. They need teachers to take the time to help every single one. My desire is to be the kind of teacher they deserve. With this scholarship, I will be one step closer to helping these children. Thank you for your time and giving me a chance.
