I may be a little older than your average college student, but I have found what I have been looking for all my life, finding a career that I can be proud of! I have always wanted to work in the medical field. When I was in the military, I worked on the medical side and always found the work both challenging and rewarding.
After a few years of research, I discovered that Surgical Technology was the way to go! I am constantly challenged every day and know without a doubt that I am helping to saves lives. The program is extremely hard, the pressure is on at all times, but I have found that I function well under high stress situations. I have truly found my passion in life and I am excited to tell everyone I meet about it.
My goal is to graduate this December with an Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology. It has been about 3 years in the making but I am glad to see this dream become a reality. After graduation I would like to work with medical missions assisting surgeons and surgical teams in third world countries providing much needed medical care to those who don’t have access to it. I know that contributing to the medical field around the world will be both rewarding and challenging at the same time. But I truly believe that doing so will contribute not only to our society today, but for future generations as well.
