Music is what wakes me up in the morning, keeps me going during the day, and helps me fall asleep at night. I go throughout work and school just waiting for my next opportunity to pop in my headphones and belt out my favorite songs. Writing songs makes my thoughts come alive with emotion and power that I may not have been able to express in quite the same way without them. If I could write uplifting, powerful, and relatable songs, and sing them for a living, I would give up everything to. Then, my music would have the power to reach and speak to people I may never have the opportunity to meet in my entire life. There are songs out there that have put into words things I may never have known I wanted to say. Knowing that someone out there feels the same way I do, even if it’s just that one artist, and found the words to express it is so encouraging and inspiring. I would want to be that beacon of hope that says “You’re not alone!” or “This can be you!” to whoever listens to my songs. The goals I would set to reach this would be to get a vocal coach to strengthen my voice, a piano teacher so I could learn to play my own music, attend songwriting workshops, and, slowly but surely, start spreading my music and a positive message to people all around the world, one listener at a time.
