One of the greatest failures we face is communication. Whether it is at work, at home, among friends or in a public forum, people (myself included) struggle to be understood. My dream would be to earn a living by encouraging and leading others to achieve their true potential, all while building bridges of communication and fellowship. I would love to come along side people of all ages and ethnicities and help guide them to be effective and productive members of their communities while promoting cohesive fellowship and camaraderie. Proper communication can change the world, but a fundamental problem we face as a species is the assumptions we make when we don’t fully understand what’s going on. When we take a step back, ask questions and seek clarification, we have the capacity to achieve true understanding and cohesion. My wife and I used to struggle with communication, and that was mostly in part due to my impatience and arrogance. When I finally started taking the time to settle down and communicate dynamically (listening first and then asking questions when I wasn’t clear on what was being said) it revolutionized our marriage and increased our closeness one-hundred fold. This is just a simple case study of what I would want to encourage the world to achieve. The goals I have before me to achieve this dream are, complete my BA with Regent University, continue to be a good steward of my responsibilities, and reach out to others in my community whenever possible.
