If I could do what I love most it would be to make young people believe in themselves, to inspire them, and to be their biggest fan. In a vision, I see myself in a private studio or in a public school classroom, reaching to the core of their identity and letting them know they are full of worth, and that whatever they have to offer the world is valuable, and then cheering them on as they cultivate every ounce of potential that lies within them. In my daydream, I am a teacher. I see students who come to me completely oblivious of how innately special they are. I teach them to sing or play the piano, and they start to know the beauty of what can come out of a person. They start to understand that they have a voice. Leo Tolstoy said, “Everyone is willing to change the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” Changing the world starts with changing oneself, and then inspiring change within one person at a time. My daily ambition drives me to meet my own potential, and in so doing, inspires others to never settle for less than their best. I see lights coming on in their eyes as they begin to comprehend that they are simply vessels of their own gifts. I see true believers emerging from my classroom. I see stirred imaginations, and dreams spilling over with undying confidence, hopeful pursuit, and passionate artistry. Awaken! I am a teacher!
