My dire financial situation and medical handicap are a motivation to write this essay and plight my case. I am an immigrant from Brazil, with two small children (nine and five years old), and fully dependent on my husband’s precarious income. In the past I was unable to work while my immigration status was being processed. Most recent, my lack of qualified skills, and my inability to work most entry level jobs that require many hours of standing due to the results of a car accident, in which I suffered several pelvis fractures and left me with a lame leg, pushed my desire forward to dedicate to my studies on a full time basis.
I choose to attain a degree in Industrial Engineering to develop desired expertise and qualified skills in development, improvement, implementation and evaluation of integrated systems of people, money, knowledge, information, equipment, energy, materials, analysis and synthesis. In addition, will allow me to further contribute to the community and charities I currently volunteer, such as Helping Hands, Meadow Woods Recreation Center, Orlando Florida Temple LDS, etc.
