Currently I attend Iowa State University where I major in civil engineering, have a certificate in leadership and hope to minor in meteorology. I have a deep passion for mega engineering, skyscrapers in particular and weather. I want to change the way that they are made and their looks. I’m tired of these standard square skyscrapers. I want to add the green energy aspect into them. Why not have farms in buildings that would supply food for half the building, or even solar panels and wind turbines that would supply for power of the building? The future begins with today’s ideas and plans. Having a minor in meteorology will allow me to understand which locations around the world are susceptible to certain types of weather. Thus allowing me to determine the type of material for the buildings, skyscrapers and bridges that should be used in order to meet the safety requirements. While having a leadership certificate will allow me to show others that I am capable of working with a team to complete an objective. A set of goals that I have that would make my dream a reality is first to complete school and receive my degree. Secondly I hope to get an internship where I could get some hands on experience that would get me ahead of the curb. Lastly I hope to be apart of an engineering firm that has the same vision as I do to create the buildings, bridges etc. of the future that are safe and economically friendly.
