Endless formulas litter the lined paper in my notebook. It’s a foreign language to most, but I know what they will mean. When this mess of characters comes to life one day, other people will see it too. There will be new buildings and cities and highways. But today they are not yet born. These magnificent structures are tucked away in the minds of engineers that are yet learning how to express themselves. To realize a dream in Civil Engineering is no small feat because the dream is often weighed down by the heavy prices of books and classes. Therefore, I rely on the generous support of scholarships in my quest to change the world. The first step will be to transfer from community college to CSU Sacramento beginning the Spring 2015 semester. I will enroll in the undergraduate Civil Engineering program. The job search will begin after graduation, and the possibilities are endless, from highway construction to facility maintenance to water resource management. Aside from bettering my own community, my dream is to do engineer work in developing countries for at least several years. I would greatly appreciate your contribution to my tuition costs at CSU Sacramento.
