I would most like to be a full-time college professor. I have done this on an adjunct basis, but I would like a permanent position. I would enjoy teaching students the facts in psychology and neuroscience, but also teaching them experimental research methods. I guess this would change the world, because I would be enlightening our youth, teaching them the biological and neurological facts about their bodies and minds, but also how to be analytical and (hopefully) open minded. I would also hope that my teachings would instill a further curiosity in my students, and that they use that curiosity to continue educating themselves and even establish a drive to teach others. I have told my students, When you one day know something because of what I have taught you, just admit it to yourself. You don’t need to call me or write me, just admit to yourself that my teaching was valuable. That will be sufficient.
I already have a Ph.D. in behavioral neuroscience, so I am academically prepared for such a job. So, I would need only to apply to colleges and universities for open positions, and of course have good letters of recommendation.
