If I could one day make my living doing what I love, I would be an animator. I would use animation as a way to motivate children and teens, especially girls and minorities because they don’t get too many inspirational characters and stories to look up to very often. I want to get rid of that belief and make both minorities and young women know that they, too, can excel and be someone in life. I would also try to get rid of the conventions in present-day media, and try to not glorify violence so much. A lot of young people need inspiration and something to look forward to in their future, and that’s what I want to accomplish with my art. I want to impact them, and make it known to them that they can make it out there and be someone. I want to change lives doing what I love through positive imagery. Violence, drugs, and objectification of women are all too glorified, and kids need more positivity.
The first step I am already taking to get there, is to constantly practice and perfect my art. After that, I plan on networking and promoting myself in order to build a reputation for myself, so that my animations and cartoons are reaching as many young people as they can. From there, I can maybe start my own studio or be picked up by a big name company and expand my reach exponentially.
