I’ve realized three things that make me happy in this world. The first is music, the second is traveling, and the third is beautiful scenery. The job that gets the best of all three of these things would be a tour manager. Throughout my freshman year I attended two amazing concerts of bands that I really like. I have found that the amazing thing about a concert experience is that you get to see months of hard work, planning, and preparation be put all together at one moment. The performance is what everyone looks forward to, and when it happens, I would assume it is all worth it.
Even though I think being a tour manager would be fun, I know for a fact that it can’t be easy. The process of become a “renowned” tour manger should be even harder. To start the journey, I would get an internship at a well-known music label to learn more about the music industry. My next goal would be to get a degree in music management to show that I have some training in the field. Afterwards, I would start of being a tour manager for small local bands in either New York or L.A. Once I have a good amount of bands in my resume, I will look to be a tour manager for some of the biggest names in the music industry.
