In the face of the wide world, with all of its rivers, mountains, forests, and sands, you may find yourself overwhelmed once in a while, and that’s alright, because we all do. There comes a time when you realize that not everything is connected by well paved paths, littered perfectly with informative road signs directing our unquenchable souls towards the bright light of fulfillment and happiness. We are, for the most part, left to wander on our own, and retain the faith that our truest idea of happiness can one day be attained by simply following our hearts, and not the road signs. While some may be troubled by the seemingly unlit path of life, I believe that this darkness can be illuminated by one simple thing; each other. We have the ability to chart these unchartered waters, to fly high above these colossal heights, to rummage through these cluttered prejudices, and to brighten the darkness simply by being around one another. By writing about my beliefs, my questions, my passions, and my fears, I gain the ability to connect myself to others. I have always found comfort in hearing the trails and triumphs of my fellow human beings because such stories remind me that, while the world may seem unconquerable from afar, it is merely ourselves that we must conquer. Writing allows me to express my innermost fears, and in doing so allows me to light the dark path for another who may be experiencing the same troubles as me.
