I love performing more than I could ever say! Stepping out of my own shoes and becoming somebody new is invigorating. I feel like it gives me new eyes to see the world. If I could earn my living by acting in musical theatre, my life would reach a whole new level of happiness! Not only does performing bring a special element of thrill and excitement for me, it also provides a unique opportunity to freely give of myself and uplift those around me by creating an experience they can relate to. When you think about it that way, theatre is a form of service.
Whether someone is part of a cast, crew or audience, theatre allows everyone present to share a single moment in time. In this sanctuary I call the theater, complete strangers can easily put aside their differences and have an emotional and spiritual experience together. What happens on the stage has the ability to spread human love and increase empathy for every individual and their own personal experience in this world. We not only relate to a character being portrayed on stage, but to each other. Theatre shows us we aren’t so different after all; we all succeed, we all struggle and we all love. To put a smile on someone’s face, make them laugh or cry, or simply make them feel something each performance means absolutely everything to me. That is some serious magic…and I want to be a part of that forever!
