Excellent

I am an adult learner new to music lessons, and so was very anxious during my first violin session with Raycurt. I can't say enough about his professionalism and easy teaching style. We spoke prior to the meeting, and he told me what I needed to get started. More impressive, he showed up during a snowstorm! I highly recommend him.

I really enjoy taking piano lessons with Jessica. It had been 40 years since I took lessons (as a teenager). Jessica's manner as well as her knowledge and love of music is just what I was hoping to find in a teacher. Her ability to explain musical concepts and her thoughtful approach to teaching has far surpassed my expectations. She gives great constructive feedback and ensures that you understand what she is saying. She is very positive and patient. I thoroughly enjoy my lessons with her and recommend her strongly.

About Austin

Music is something that everyone can share and express themselves through, and i want to help everyone to find that avenue of expression! I studied drums at the Drummers Collective in New York City, where i studied several genres of music. I play everything from rock, jazz, soul, R&B, Caribbean, and Latin music. If a student is interested in a certain style of music i would be happy to dive into that further, or explore other genres that may peek interest. The difference between me and many other teachers is that i genuinely love teaching and watching my students grow as players and musicians. *** Lesson Details *** I'm here to motivate students to be the best they can be, and to answer any questions or concerns they may have about their instrument. Austin was a spectacular teacher. He established my knowledge of music quickly, and then got right to teaching. His teaching style is highly personalized for each person, allowing them to expand on their own music tastes and learn new things. In each lesson, I learned something new, and every half hour there was enjoyable. Austin was also very friendly, allowing me to feel at ease in a comfortable environment as I learned. And learn I did. During the time I was with Austin, I learned much about rudiments, sticking, the drums themselves, and music in general. Besides that, Austin also helped me find a good set to use, advising me on quality and prices.

Cool and knowledgable

Austin is a great teacher, patient and knowledgable. The lessons go fast as we practice techniques and music styles. Highly recommended!
Brian R. Bethesda, MD

About Brian

I picked up my first pair of drumsticks when I was 10 years old. After a little bit of practice and hard work I've gone on to teach kids and adults the best instrument in the world! Some of my heroes include Steve Gadd, Carter Beauford, Buddy Rich, Gregg Bissonette, Dennis Chambers, and any drummer who can play left-handed. I have been in bands ranging in styles from rock to funk and currently enjoy playing in instrumental funk and pop-rock bands based here in DC. Whether it's an intimate club like IOTA in Arlington or a large venue like The Fillmore in Silver Spring, I love putting on a good show. While studying Audio/Radio at Emerson College in Boston, I played drums with funk-groove band SYM while honing my skills in audio engineering. It was in the studio, I fell in love with ...

Professional Drum Teacher/Collaborator

I'm not a student, however I did play in a band in Boston with Brian for over 2 years. He was professional drummer and had a great attitude towards collaboration.

We recorded one EP at Emerson College, where Brian had an integral part in the mixing, production and of course recording.

I would recommend working with Brian!

B-rock

Brian and I shared the drum section together for several years in a local Northeast touring band. His technique and pursuit of the perfect beat were second to none. He's got a keen ear to tempo and brings unique flavors or different genres of music to the table which helped push the band in new directions.

I'd recommend Brian as a teacher based on his love and dedication to music coming from his college major to his hobbies, music and playing drums are a large part of B-rocks life.

Rock on brah.

Excellent Drummer

I have had the unique opportunity of playing in band with Brian for two years. Not only is he an incredibly technical drummer, he genuinely understands creativity and collaboration. He was also at forefront of recording one of our EP's back in '08, and it came out great! He made us sound much more professional than we were at the time. I haven't had him as a teacher, but would highly recommend him for anyone looking to learn both skill and creativity.

About Joe

RockSmith Journey is a fun, energy-packed and safe environment where kids are encouraged to love God, music, their band members, and their electric guitar or bass. My desire is to partner with parents to teach kids (6 & Up) basic music skills using technology, Rock, Blues and Worship and this to serve as foundation for their musical growth and performances in their lives. Mastering an instrument is never going to be easy, but I will be there to make sure the whole process is approachable and fun for young kids while still providing experienced guitarists plenty of tools to experiment with. I'm your RockMaster.RockSmith 2014 is the main road of your journey. You choose your path (Lead/Rhythm/Bass Guitar). I believe God is the source of all truth and musical abilities. Everyone can ...

Joe's lessons have made a tremendous, positive impact on our seven-year-old son, Thomas. A year ago, Thomas expressed interest in learning guitar after seeing the musicians at church. We connected with Joe to arrange for some lessons. Following Joe's instruction, supplemented with practice at home, Thomas has become a devoted guitar player, learning chords and songs along the way. He now improvises a little on his own with chords and is even keeping a journal of different chords he has learned. We highly recommend Joe, and his method of using the RockSmith game on the XBox is uncanny - the game is sophisticated enough for an adult, yet very accessible for someone Thomas's age. We plan to keep up with Joe for the foreseeable future.
