Teaching piano and voice lessons is a privilege for me because the nature of the subject leads to the discovery of so many parallels within other areas of life. I want you all to know that I take this profession seriously and look forward to sharing our experiences of music and life, together. Let me tell you about myself. I am a graduate of the Bradley University, with a Bachelor of Music Education Degree; I received my Master of Music degree in Music Performance from Northwestern University. I have taught in my home and at other private and commercial settings. With 30 years of experience, I have taught all levels for both children and adults, including those with developmental disabilities. I have a musical husband who plays and tunes pianos, and two wonderful daughters. They are the only ones who take priority over my music. I have been teaching individual and group lessons for 12+ years. Many of my students have won trophies at the Granquist music competition and also play in local youth orchestras. My own youth string ensemble plays publicly at many popular local venues several times a year. I enjoy exposing my students to the finer points of being a professional musician such as the camaraderie, team work, creativity (creating harmonies, tailoring arrangements to fit student’s level) and of course, stage presence. I am very proud of my students. It is so gratifying to see their confidence build with each new skill they master.

Hi! I'm here to help any student of any level to reach their musical goals! I have been playing music (drums, piano, organ, guitar) for 14 years 12 of which have been as a professional! I have a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Studies from Columbia College Chicago. I've been on the road recently for awhile and am looking forward to getting back to teaching!!

Originally from Indiana, David has been teaching music in both the private and public school sectors for 12 years. Getting his start as a drumline instructor with only 4 students, David soon expanded his teaching to include both guitar and piano, which he studied under Frank Puzzulo (of Miles Davis' group) at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

Upon graduating Ball State, David moved to Colorado to study jazz and classical music with Dr. Douglas Walter, an accomplished percussionist who is known for his versatility and multiple percussion talents. He also studied piano and guitar in his off time, jamming with several rock and jazz groups both in and out of school.

In 2006, David left the college scene with a Masters in Music and moved to Florida where he began his teaching career. My passion is teaching! I could search my whole life, and never find anything I enjoy doing more. You could call it my "calling," for lack of a better term. That's probably why I've been so successful in my career. I've taught students as young as 4 years old, and students who are in retirement.
The success I've had, comes with years of taking private lessons, performing, studying, and always keeping an open mind to new ideas, and relating my experience with all my students.

I have been magnetized to the saxophone ever since I was introduced to the music of John Coltrane in the seventh grade. Since then I have been in a constant pursuit of deepening my understanding of music and all its beautiful forms, and sharing that knowledge with those who are interested!
Hailing from Flagstaff, Arizona, I attended Western Michigan University on a four year scholarship and received my Bachelor of Music, Jazz Studies in 2009. While I was there I had the incredible privilege of studying with the great Trent Kynaston, as well as performing with some of the most influential jazz musicians today, including Bobby McFerrin, Stefon Harris, Billy Hart, Fred Hersch, and Randy Brecker. I now live in Chicago where I teach lessons and perform regularly with my band, The Winchester.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Andrew started studying classical piano shortly before his fifth birthday. Andrew began playing jazz in high school as a member of the Lincoln Park Jazz Band and the Gallery 37 Jazz Band. In his sophomore year, he was selected as a Ravinia Jazz Scholar and for three years he had the opportunity to work with such world-class mentors as Willie Pickens, Tito Carrillo, Ernie Adams, and Bobby Broom. He attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he studied both jazz and classical piano with Dan Wall and Sanford Margolis, respectively. In his senior year, he was nominated to the Oberlin Jazz Septet, the top jazz ensemble at Oberlin, which toured the east coast, giving masterclasses at high schools and playing at clubs such as Chris’ Jazz Cafe in Philadelphia and Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola in New York.

It has guided me and shaped me into the person I am today. To be a music instructor means to be the one who facilitates and nurtures that growth. My expertise lies greatly in both vocal performance and piano performance. Scott D. was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois in 1967. He expressed a keen interest in music at an early age, and subsequently, began his studies with the clarinet, and percussion while performing in the school band. A short time after that, he decided guitar was going to be his instrument of choice, and began formal studies with blues man, Don Brown. After that, Scott moved on to study with session ace, Gary Blume. By the time we was 18, he began studies for what would be the first of his two degrees, at William Rainey Harper College. There he was mentored in both classical and jazz guitar under well known session player, and composer, Steven Suvada, and later continued with David Sussman, of the Lyric Opera in Chicago.

Anna K. was born in Cracow, Poland. From an early age she had a deep interest in all types of music. She was encouraged by her parents and quickly developed a talent. She began her musical education at the age of seven at The Bronislaw Rutkowski State First Degree School of Music in Cracow. It was here where she first began studying piano.
In the 1998, she entered The Mieczyslaw Karlowicz State Second Degree School of Music in Cracow. Here she continued her piano education, and took up the French Horn, studying with Jacek Muzyk, who is currently Associate Principal Horn with Huston Symphony. Her passion for music resulted in the acceptance to both, the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland, where she studied for two years, and later to studio of Dale Clevenger, Principal Horn of Chicago Symphony Orchestra, at the Chicago College of Performing Arts.

Daniel, a former faculty member of Columbia College in Chicago, is a studio and live performance singer and musician based in Chicago. His teaching and performing experience spans three decades, and includes expertise in the studies of voice, guitar, piano, bass, drums, and trumpet, along with music theory, arranging, and composing. He is a Lincoln Academy Student Laureate who holds a BA in Music Composition, and has attended graduate courses in education at Roosevelt University and DePaul University in Chicago.
