Subjects Taught
Piano, Clarinet, Flute, Music Theory, Percussion, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Tuba
About Me
I have a BS in music education, I am a professional musician/ composer/ arranger.I received my teaching credentials at SFSU and have been a General music teacher as well as a, band teacher. I have studied trumpet with Classical and Jazz teachers and big band arranging with Frank Foster( saxophonist and arranger with Count Basie Band). At present I am retired and teaching privately.
I have been teaching music for over 30 years as well as being a professional musician. I enjoy teaching because it allows me pass on what my teachers taught me as well as what my experiences have been. I have found that teaching music builds confidence in students, not only in music but in other areas as well.
In every culture that we study, music is one way we learn a lot about how they lived. If we don’t pass this knowledge on we will be forgotten. Teaching to me is not only a pleasure but a duty I must perform for our survival.
Subjects Taught
Bass Guitar, Guitar, Classical Guitar, Music Performance, Music Theory, Songwriting, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Upright Bass, Drums, Piano, Singing
About Me
I have been playing with classical ensembles and rock bands since 2001. Even though I started on classical trombone and rock guitar, I have come to expand my repertoire to a variety of instruments and genres. During my time in college I performed with the University choir, orchestra, and band. I also have organized, composed and arranged for, and performed with a variety of bands in my home state of New Mexico, as well as Japan and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Since 2006 I have been an active teacher. This profession has taken me everywhere from working with classical guitar classes in New Mexico high schools to Elementary students in Japan to a variety of private students of various musical instruments and genres everywhere I've been. Since settling in the Bay in 2010, I've had the pleasure of working with lots of great students from kids to adults with a wide range of ambitions.
I received my Bachelor of Music Education with Honors from New Mexico State University in 2008....

Gayathri N,
Prahalad's trial lesson with Jesse
Prahalad and I really enjoyed meeting with Jesse and having a trial lesson with him. Jesse is a kind, patient teacher and has a very nice way of interacting and getting the best out of his student. He is clearly a musician with diverse talents. He was able to give Prahalad an appreciation for different practicing techniques and reading tips.
Due to various other considerations we are not able to take lessons with Jesse at the moment, but I would recommend him to others who would like to develop an appreciation for music and learn an instrument.

Nancy T,
Nancy T's Review
-Jesse has been a great "find"!! He is quiet, pleasant, respectful of both myself, the grandmother and my grandson, Jacob, who is the one taking the lessons. He has a wonderful way with Jacob, very encouraging yet also gets across what he expects from Jake. We love him!!!

About Me
I am a brass, voice and percussion artist and teacher, local to the Sacramento area, specializing in many styles such as Classical, Jazz, and Pop. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Tuba Performance from CSU Sacramento. During my time here in Sacramento I have held the position of Principal Tuba for the Folsom Symphony for the 2009 - 2011 seasons. I'm currently the lead trombone for the Harley White Jr. Jazz Orchestra and lead trombone for the Element Brass Band. In addition, I was privileged to win multiple downbeat awards with the Sacramento State Jazz Singers where I sung bass and was often a featured soloist. I am even featured as the bass singer in Selfless Cold and Composed on the Ben Folds' College a cappella album released in 2009. As well, I have been given the great opportunity to play in several professional drum lines (most notably that of the San Francisco 49ers "Niner Noise" and Golden State Warriors aftershock". In March 2010 I became the first tuba player win CSU...
