Andrew is a graduate of Musicians Institute College of Contemporary Music in Hollywood, California with a degree in drum/percussion performance. At Musicians Institute he had the opportunity to study with drum book authors: Ed Roscetti, Chuck Silverman and Gary Hess, as well as World Snare Drum Champion: Rob Carson. He first began his drum studies at age 10; playing percussion in school and at 17 began performing and recording drums professionally. He spent a great deal of his time working with local artists in Philadelphia and Manhattan and touring the northeastern states. During his time in Los Angeles he performed in cover bands, jazz/latin groups and for dozens of independent artists. He also had the privilege to work with some well know artists, such as Scott Shriner of Weezer, Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe, and The Blue Man Group.

My name is John. I am a graduate of Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA where I received a Bachelors of Music Performance on the guitar. I have moved back to South Jersey, and am looking for students.
My areas of expertise lie in metal/rock/progressive playing, songwriting and arranging. I also feel at home in the classical realm as far as orchestration and arranging go. I can teach various techniques on the guitar (including the fore mentioned styles) along with funk, blues, jazz, alternate picking, sweep picking, legato playing, hybrid picking, harmonizing, chord melody, odd meter, theory, and ear training as well as all things beginner.
I am also proficient as a vocalist, drummer/percussionist, bassist, and can find my way around a piano.

I have a vast professional experience and I have met people of all ages in all walks of life. I find it easy to bond with people in these various environments through the common bond of music, both playing and enjoying. It is the ultimate ice breaker. I have worked with children and adults in many environments and I have taught music to people of all ages as well. Music keeps the "kid at heart" alive!! My name is Victoria. I'm originally from beautiful San Diego, California, and I began my musical journey at age twelve while still back west. I received private instruction on guitar from a professional guitarist who focused on technique and classical playing. About a year later, I began playing guitar and bass in groups that ranged from church ensembles to rock bands, and even spent two years playing in an orchestra. I've instructed nearly 30 students (of varying ages) on both bass and guitar while serving as a music director at two churches and serving as a student music director at Point Loma Nazarene University. I also received a certification through The Contemporary Music Center, now located in Nashville. Here, I acquired further skills in live performance, studio work, and songwriting.

I received a Bachelor’s of Music with a concentration in Jazz Guitar Performance from Temple University in 2008. Although my focus was on Jazz, I also play and teach many other styles of music including Rock, Blues, Folk, Classical and Funk. Aside from teaching lessons and performing with various projects along the east coast, I also compose music for films and produce/record other musicians and bands.

Because of my background as a performer, composer, producer and educator, I feel that I have unique qualifications to give the student a well-rounded understanding of not just the guitar, but of music as a whole. By including a balanced mix of technique, performance, composition and theory, I hope to help students reach their full creative potential and to see music as not only a performance art, but as a mode of individual expression.

I am a jazz performance major concentrating on the upright bass at Temple University. Yet, I am also an equally qualified guitar player. I play folk rock, hard rock, funk, and a lot of jazz around the Philadelphia area. I have been playing music my whole life and one of the most important things for me is to share my musical knowledge and abilities with others. This is a concept that several of my fantastic teachers have passed on to me. Music is emotional and it would be nice if everyone was emotional about it. I have been playing the bass for 7 years now. I started out in a Blues band, and made my way into playing other genres of music. I have played many different styles of music. I have played Jazz, Classical, Funk, Rock, Folk, Country, Reggae, Hip Hop, Neo Soul, R and B, Pop, And Musicals. I am now attending The University of The Arts. I am going into my Senior year. I major in Jazz performance, with a minor in Music Education. I am planning to go into the Music Education Grad program at The University. I also plan on being a middle school music teacher.

I got my start in music early, banging away at the piano in my grandparents’ house as a child. Later, I began playing the viola in 3rd grade, and moved to the saxophone in 4th grade, playing that for the next seven years.

In high school, I picked up the bass guitar, and fell in love. Encouraged by my band director, orchestra director, and choral director, I expanded his repertoire into the double bass, bass clarinet, contra-bass clarinet, and even tuba for a year. I also sang tenor with the school’s chorus and madrigal choir. I graduated with honors and was the very first recipient of the Robert Woldin Music Award.

My name is RJ J., and I am a jazz guitarist and composer currently living in Philadelphia.

I began playing guitar in 2002, and mostly focused on rock and blues playing early on. I took lessons at a nearby music store for about 3 years as a beginner. While still studying at this store, one of my teachers offered me a job teaching lessons; however, I was too young at the time to do so. This experience began to make me think seriously about making music my career. I decided to focus on jazz and classical music while in high school, and have pursued these styles more exclusively ever since. I began studying with guitarist Carol Hamersma when my interests shifted toward jazz. Carol refined my basic jazz skills, but also exposed me to classical guitar technique and repertoire very early on. Rob is a graduate of University of the Arts, with a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Music Education.

At University of the Arts, Rob studied under Don Glanden, Justin Bineck, and Jeff Kern. Prior to attending University of the Arts, he studied jazz performance and piano under Bruce Williamson, Nicholas Brooks, and Milford Graves at Bennington College.

In addition to teaching, Rob is active as a pianist, composer, and has composed solo piano works influenced by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and Ravel.

Rob's recent collaborations include KC Quilty, Yogyakarta's Finest, the Jesse-Bartlett Webber Quintet, the Reverent TJ McGlinchey Band, the PhilaPhunk, and Ton-Taun. He has served in leadership roles in UArts competition big bands, the Rick Kerber Tribute Ensemble and the Z Big Band.
