I come from a family of musicians and both of my parents are full-time music teachers.

I have studied music internationally in countries including Argentina, Italy, Portugal, London, and the United States. I come highly recommended by musicians of high artistry.

I graduated from San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2011 with a Masters Degree in Chamber Music. My previous diplomas in music are a bachelors degree at The Boston Conservatory and an Artist Diploma from the International School of Chamber Music of the Trio di Trieste (Italy).

My name is Kristen K. and I am an accomplished violinist and teacher from Lexington, Kentucky. I began my musical studies at age 7 and quickly discovered my passion and love for music. As a young musician, I attended numerous summer music festivals, participated in the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra. I was a winner of two concerto competitions, which gave me the opportunity to perform solos with the youth orchestra. I continued my studies at the University of Kentucky as a Violin Performance major and it was there that I discovered my love for teaching music! After completing my performance degree, I decided to also pursue a Bachelor’s in Music Education. During my college career, I served as a teaching assistant in the University of Kentucky String Project, I taught group and private lessons at several local middle and high schools, and also maintained my own private violin and viola studio. I was also awarded the McCracken Scholarship Award for Excellence in Music Education....

At age 15 was accepted into the elite program at the School of Music in Odessa, Ukraine.
Continued on to one of the premier music Universities in the world: Kiev State Conservatory, where I received a Masters degree in Teaching and Performing arts.

My Professional Career in Ukraine and USA includes performance with numerous symphony and chamber groups, such as Kiev Chamber Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, San Jose Symphony.
I am passionate and dedicated to my Art which is reflected in my teaching style and in the results my students consistently achieve.
My ultimate goal as an instructor is to convey to my students the beauty of making music. I define success to be the ability to see the joy that playing for yourself and others...

I am an active violinist and composer and a very enthusiastic teacher! I began playing the violin when I was five years old and studied classically for many years. I started college early at Bard College at Simon's Rock, and graduated with my B.A. magna cum laude in music when I was nineteen years old. Following that, I completed a Fulbright Fellowship in Belgrade, Serbia, where I studied many different types of music, including Roma folk music and contemporary composition at the Belgrade Conservatory. I also taught English at the University of Belgrade.

I have spent time as a musician in New York City and have performed my own compositions on the electric violin across Central and Eastern Europe. I have worked with professional film composers and music editors as an assistant, orchestrator, and copyist. I recently began my graduate studies at Mills College, where I am studying composition, improvisation and performance.

•The styles I teach most often are jazz, classical and popular. Although I have studied many different genres, my specialties are saxophone and composition. I have studied with music teachers such as Anthony Braxton, Herb Pomeroy, Charlie Banacos, Jerry Bergonzi, Gary Burton, Joe Viola, Ken Pullig, John LaPorta, Hal Crook, James Newton and Ken Radnofsky.

Music has been a large part of my life since I first started taking piano lessons at the age of six. In fifth grade, I learned to play the flute, and I performed in bands all the way through college. In high school, I also picked up the violin, and enjoyed playing in orchestras as well. I earned my Bachelors degree in Music Education and my California teaching credential from Biola University in Southern California. During that time, I enjoyed playing many other instruments. My primary instruments are the flute, piano, and violin, although I also play (and teach) beginning clarinet, viola, and cello.

In addition to giving private lessons, I also teach school band and orchestra, so I bring the added perspective of a conductor who can help students learn how their part fits in with the whole ensemble. I have taught elementary, middle school, and high school band and orchestra, as well as clinics and small group classes.

Hello, my name is Chris. I am currently a Jazz Studies major at San Jose State University. I began my musical journey at Dartmouth Middle School. I played saxophone, and was only mildly interested in music. I stayed in music in high school, but remained only mildly interested until my Sophomore year. I discovered the trumpet and began to listen to Louis Armstrong, and became obsessed with jazz and mastering the trumpet. In just 2 short years, I had studied enough trumpet to travel South America with the San Jose Youth Symphony Philharmonic Orchestra. After my South American tour, I decided to teach privately and share my talents with the world. I won a scholarship to San Jose State for music excellence in 2009, and joined the Spartan Marching Band. While in this prestigious organization I performed in Olympic Stadiums, Disneyland, and all over San Jose. I am currently working toward a Bachelor of Music with a dual emphasis in Music Education and Jazz Studies from San Jose...

Classically trained at prestigious Mussorgsky school of music in St. Petersburg, Russia, with over 20 years of teaching experience. In addition to Violin Performance, I teach Music Theory, Music History, Sight Reading and Ear Training to children and adults of beginning to advanced level. I utilize several teaching methods to best suit the needs of a student and make lessons enjoyable and productive. I introduce my students to a variety of styles while teaching classical techniques for lifetime skills. When not teaching, I play with Nova Vista Symphony (First Violin) ,Campbell String Chamber Orchestra (Concertmeistress), Winchester Symphony Orchestra, and a variety of instrumental Ensembles featuring Klezmer Music, Russian Tangos and Brazilian Choros.
