I've been teaching guitar professionally since I've been 17 and I've taught a wide range of musicals styles from Jazz, Blues, Fusion, to Rock you name it. My first experience with the instrument was 8 years ago and since then I haven't put it down. Early on in my teaching career I found that it's important for students to have the drive to learn, but it's more important to have someone that can guide them in the right direction. I believe the role of a teacher is not only to instill that drive, but to fuel the fire of their imaginations through fun and effective exercises. I've had the pleasure of teaching students ranging from 5 to 60 years of age and have found that the fundamentals of playing are applied across the map.

I'm currently attending Columbia College of Chicago and I'll be receiving my bachelors in instrumental performance mid May. I've studied under some great players such as Frank Dawson, Harry Hmura, Chris Forte and currently studying under Peter Lerner.

I am a professional musician who enjoys helping young people reach their musical goals. I perform regularly as a solo act and play with a band at various hotels in Chicago. I went to Millikin University in Decatur for music where I toured the country and played and sang in the top ensembles. I also studied at the Music Industry Workshop in Chicago for music production and engineering. My goal is to help you learn the songs you love and show you how to make the technical side of music more fun than you ever imagined!

I'm a extremely versatile guitarist that plays a range of styles from blues, classical, jazz, metal, country, bluegrass, and rock. Growing up in the western suburbs of Chicago, I was exposed to the sounds of Jimi Hendrix and Muddy Waters at a young age and frequently practiced air guitar, especially after hearing Metallica on MTV as a teenager. At the age of 14, I had discovered my favorite thing to do and found others to play music with. After playing in high school groups, writing, recording, and personal study, I attended Columbia College Chicago for my bachelor of arts with a focus on learning the language of jazz. I graduated in 2007, and began a career that has let me make music my life.

I have been a guitarist since the age of 13, so that has been 47 years so far! A long time and I have learned so much about playing the guitar during those years. I have been a professional guitarist for many, many years. Actually, I played my first professional gig about 2 weeks after I had first started playing guitar. I really didn't know what I was doing, but I did not know any better! And I played in rock bands through high school and we played professionally at local parties, and that was a ton of fun!

Educationally, I studied at the American Conservatory of Music, studying harmony, theory and classical guitar. At the same time I was at that school, I studied privately for 8 years with famed classical guitar teacher Jack Cecchini. I have 18 years of experience as a drummer and have performed professionally with various acts around Chicago for the past 12 years. I have been fortunate enough to tour the country numerous times both as a performer and as a Drum Tech for the band Wilco. My professional experiences over the years have shaped the way that I approach teaching.

I have been teaching individual and group lessons for 12+ years. Many of my students have won trophies at the Granquist music competition and also play in local youth orchestras. My own youth string ensemble plays publicly at many popular local venues several times a year. I enjoy exposing my students to the finer points of being a professional musician such as the camaraderie, team work, creativity (creating harmonies, tailoring arrangements to fit student’s level) and of course, stage presence. I am very proud of my students. It is so gratifying to see their confidence build with each new skill they master.

I have over fifteen years of playing experience (in drums ) and four years of teaching experience (drums). My playing career can best be displayed on three of Elmhurst College Jazz Band albums, were I was the drummer for three of my college years. The albums are ‘Round Midnight, Harlem Nocturne, and finally River. Hi my name is Glorimar I'm from Puerto Rico but now I'm living in Chicago. My Dad is a musician and like every musician who have kids he had the idea of teaching me piano since I was 6 years old. The truth is that I fell in love with the violin when I was 12 years old in a music camp and I started to take violin lessons and since the very first day I loved so much the violin class that I told my Mom that I wanted to be a great violin teacher just like mine. Once I graduated from High School I went straight to the Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico, where I received a Bachelor Degree of Music with a concentration in Instrumental Music Education. I've been a private violin teacher since 2007, every time I see the face of a kid light up when he or she is playing the violin for first time is my favorite part of been a teacher. My goals are to do my Masters Degree in Music Education with a concentration in String Pedagogy at the Northwestern University, that's why I moved from Puerto Rico.

Learning to play music can change your life. It is a marvelous way to develop creativity, coordination, intellectual abilities, and self-esteem. Learning to play a stringed instrument is particularly satisfying since violin and viola players can perform in so many different musical styles.

I have been playing guitar since I was 2005. I was 13 when I got my first guitar and I didn't know how to play. I did a lot of research through songs, a few theory online pages, and a poster and figured out how to play in key. It took me four years to finally start improving my guitar skills as a soloist and lead guitarist. I could have learned it sooner if I had everything right away and that is what I would like to teach my students.

I have been in several bands and I am currently in one so I know a lot about stage performance, and song writing. I will show you teach you a bit playing in front of an audience.

I have taken music theory at Northeastern Illinois University. I took up to music theory level 4. I have the basics and advanced theory knowledge. I will be able to teach students what they need to understand music a little more and what a song is doing.
