Kal was born in New York and began studying piano and then added cello in elementary school. Kal's vast knowledge of the piano and cello repertoire helps his students have fun playing because there is no shortage of wonderful selections to play.

When Kal was in high school, piano performance was always paramount. In addition, Kal studied cello with Nellis DeLay-Harvout, principal cellist of the New York City Ballet Orchestra and sister of the world renown and distinguished Julliard school of Music violin instructor Dorothy DeLay. During high school, Kal played cello in the school orchestra as well as the all county and all state orchestras. Kal also gave cello recital performances with veteran concert pianist Gloria Carney, who was the accompanist of the legendary cellist Leonard Rose.

Paula is passionate teacher with diverse musical styles who lives in Houston, TX. Paula has over 8 years of experience in music instruction. She primarily teaches piano and voice. Composer Troy W. graduated from the New England Conservatory, earning his Bachelors, Masters (cum laude) and Graduate Diploma while studying with mentor Malcolm Peyton. After spending a year studying with Lukas Foss in Boston, Mr. W. moved to Houston in 2001 where he continued graduate studies at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music.

During his time as a teacher with the Michael P. Hammond Preparatory Program at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music, Troy taught classes in music fundamentals and music theory for pre-college students. She attended the Hua-Kang Art School in Taipei, where she majored in piano performance. In 1996 she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Music Theory and Composition from the Taipei National University of the Arts, Taiwan, where she studied with Nan-Chang Chien. I love to teach and perform music. I have been playing piano since I was about 7 years old. I continued studying music in band playing the clarinet around the age of 9. Also, I have been singing alto in choir since I was about 12 years old. I am currently working towards a Bachelor of Music degree with Teacher Certification at Houston Baptist University. I have worked as a substitute teacher for many years educating a wide variety of ages. I was a part of the chorus in HBU's spring 2009 opera, Die Fledermaus.

Robert began playing guitar in Houston, Texas at the age of 12. It was not long before he began playing in bands and played his first professional gig at age 17. Robert performed in and around the Houston area for five years before deciding to study music on the college level. He attended the University of North Texas and later attended Musicians Institute. While a student at MI, Robert was given the Outstanding Student of the Year Award for 1991-'92. Robert began teaching at MI in the guitar school (GIT) in 1993. He has played with Bo Diddley, Tim Bogert, Chevy Chase, Floyd Radford, Deacon Jones, Joe Houston and countless others. He has performed for Buddy Ebson and Chevy Chase and has partied with the Monkees. In addition to playing guitar Robert also plays and teaches bass guitar and piano.

Having been a public school teacher as well as a private and group piano instructor, I've observed how differently students "digest" information, and piano lessons are a great way to make use of different learning syles. I emphasize knowing HOW to practice before you leave so you'll be successful at home, and you are welcome to call me with problems during the week so you don't loose a week in progressing with your lessons. I also perform with an orchestra and want to feel proficient among my peers, so I really know how it feels to make a mistake in front of everyone. I am here to help you feel proud of your progress.
