Music has always been passion of mine since a very young age, so it was inevitable that it would end up being my career. Naturally, a love for teaching the wonders of music followed suit!
I always try to form a great rapport with my students and parents from the very first lesson. For younger students, I encourage my parents to take an active part in both lessons and daily practice, as is encouraged by Shinichi Suzuki.

I teach using the Suzuki method, which relies on listening carefully to the piece you are learning. I also love to teach jazz, bluegrass and Irish styles.
For as long as I can remember, music has been a part of my life. I began dance and piano lessons by the age of three, and at 9 I began to study violin with Phyllis Freeman at Peabody Preparatory in Towson. In high school, I studied with Klara Berkovich, and in 1997 I began studies with Dr. Zoltan Szabo. I graduated from Towson University in 2002.
After college I played in Irish, Bluegrass, folk and rock bands. I have been performing locally in an old timey jazz duo for ten years.
I have been teaching for 6 years, and I absolutely love it. I try to develop a program individual to each student with challenging and fun material.

I am a violin and viola teacher born and raised in the Baltimore area. I most recently completed a Graduate Performance Diploma at Peabody Conservatory, where I also studied pedagogy under Rebecca Henry and Janet Melnicoff-Brown of the Peabody Preparatory. While the majority of my teacher training and professional work has been on the violin, I am a violist at heart. I teach students ages 3 to adult at my home studio in Mount Vernon, and I enjoy working with students who have all different levels of ability and commitment. Everyone is welcome.
