Hello Future Students!

As a Music Teacher, my strengths are Patience, Experience and Encouragement. I am a Father of 4 and have had the joy in teaching them Guitar, Saxophone, Basic Theory and more. I have taught at Columbia College Chicago and at School of Rock (NYC/NJ). I currently teach children and young adults how to make simple musical instruments at The Friends of The Family Day Care Center in Mutuchen, NJ as well as producing Creative Sound Workshops at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and various Sound Art Festivals.
Playing by Ear has been a priceless, innate talent that I have developed throughout my life and I encourage all musicians, young and old, to do the same. I've been teaching music for about as long as I've been playing it and I love teaching music the same way it was passed down to me! My explosive passion for music and life is contagious amongst my students and I love nothing more than sharing what I know.

As a professional saxophone player, I've toured the world playing as both a solo artist and part of a band in many genres including Jazz, Funk, Classical, Rock, and Jam Band. Some people I've played with have included Doug Wamble, the Codetalkers, Blueground Undergrass, the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, and Donna the Buffalo. I've also been part of major label recordings including most recently Doug Wamble's new record for E1 Music. I love all styles of jazz but I'm definitely not a strict jazz-head and you're as likely to see me at a bluegrass or rock concert as you are a jazz club.

My name is Lauren, and I'm a piano and voice teacher based in Brooklyn. I love music more than anything (even animals, iced coffee, shopping, and being outside on nice days!)

My musical journey started early: I was 4 when I begged my parents for a piano after 'playing' one at a distant relative's home. I haven't looked back since, and my entire life has been centered around listening to, creating, loving, and teaching music. I love all kinds of music: I grew up with old rock and classical, but quickly found that I loved jazz, r&b, musical theatre soundtracks, everything!

I have a large place in my heart for music theory, ear training, and composition, so if you have trouble with these topics or would like to get better at them, I am a good resource for that. It is my goal as a music teacher to give my students a strong, practical foundation that will translate to whatever they want to do in their musical career, non-specific of genre or instrument....

Matt, 33 years old, has enjoyed working and teaching as a professional musician for at least 12 years. He began studying music and playing the saxophone at age 11. He currently lives and works in the New York City area after moving there from Philadelphia in early 2001 after graduating from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 1999 with a Bachelors in Music.

Throughout his musical career, Matt has performed and worked in a variety of capacities including as a composer and recording studio engineer. His main area of expertise is performing as a jazz saxophonist on alto, tenor, and soprano saxophones, and he regularly plays throughout New York City in restaurants and jazz clubs.

I've been playing and loving music for well more than half a century, now. I got started in second grade when my grandpa brought home a little violin one day, and I've been at it ever since. I was fortunate to take lessons for more than ten years with Carita Page, a teacher who was very warm, encouraging, and caring. I do my best to pass that on to my students in addition to the technique of playing and the theory of music, fascinating as those are.

I feel that playing in groups is very valuable experience for students and gives you a side of music that private lessons alone cannot. I encourage students to look for opportunities to do that. To help provide those opportunities I organized the Cranbury Scout Band, one of very few continuously-operating Scout bands in the country, which I have directed for more that ten years now. I've also been on the staff of several Jamboree Scout bands.

Gregg has been involved in music for almost his entire life. He began with the saxophone in middle school, where he took lessons and played in the school band, orchestra, and jazz band. He was interested in many other instruments at the time; piano and clarinet lessons shortly followed, but he did not develop his skills on guitar until much later. In seventh and eighth grade, Gregg was accepted into the Region II Intermediate Band, an intercollegiate ensemble for middle school students, where he performed tenor saxophone both years.

In high school, Gregg participated in the freshman Concert Band (tenor sax), Symphonic Band (tenor sax sophomore year, bassoon senior year), Wind Ensemble (tenor sax junior and senior years), and the Marching Band (tenor sax freshman and junior years, baritone sax sophomore year). He also took the music theory courses offered at the time, with prefect grades in both of them.

Hello! I am a professional music educator in the Philadelphia, PA area. I graduated magna cum laude from Mansfield University, with a bachelor's degree in Music Education and hold a master's degree in Flute Performance from the University of Connecticut. I have taught all ages of students, from pre-K to adult, a wide variety of instruments. I am a member of MENC (The National Association for Music Education) and Sigma Alpha Iota (Professional International Music Fraternity for Women). In addition to music, I love animals. Currently we have 2 cats, a turtle, and a red iguana that all put up with my practicing and lessons quite well (or they just hide under the bed).
