About Me

Since beginning her studies at age four, Shyang has had the pleasure of giving solo performances throughout the United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy and Germany. As an orchestral player, she has had the privilege of playing under the batons of Lorin Maazel, Vladimir Ashkenazy, John Wilson and Federico Cortese.

At the age of 16, Ms. P. made her soloists debut to a sold-out audience at Boston's Jordan Hall with the Boston Youth Symphony, and as co-leader of the BYS performed on tours of Russia, Latvia, Estonia, Spain and Portugal. She was recently awarded her Bachelor's of Music with Honours degree from the Royal College of Music in London, and is now studying towards her Masters of Music at the Peabody Institute of Music, where she is the recipient of a scholarship.

About Me

I have been teaching part time for the past 6 years in VA and DC, and have recently decided to being teaching full time in Baltimore, my new home. Over the course of these years, I have gone to school in DC for my BM in Piano Performance, and have recently completed my tenure in the Music and Liturgy office of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. I have performed in community, collegiate, and professional settings as a pianist, vocalist, percussionist, trumpeter and organist. I have had the opportunity to perform as a soloist as well as in chamber, opera, musical theater, and orchestral ensembles in these capacities.
In addition to teaching and performing, I also have experience as a conductor, composer, and music director, and enjoy transcription, arrangement and engravement projects. I plan to pursue advanced degrees in piano pedagogy and look forward to working with piano students of all levels of experience.

About Me

I am a composer, arranger, and producer who grew up in Westchester County, New York, with a continual appreciation for music and the arts. I embarked on my musical journey at a young age, receiving instruction in basic piano, moving on to study classical piano, and then learning jazz piano. I began writing solo compositions for piano as an early teen, and quickly thereafter learned how to use recording equipment. I also learned to play the saxophone as a child, playing in various elementary and high-school school bands. Often would my father, brother and I perform events held at our church as a saxophone trio, playing standard jazz pieces from the 1950s and '60s. While studying at Goucher College, I learned music theory, music history, and arranged several of my own pieces and a few original arrangements for the Jazz Ensemble. About Me

I am a University of Hawaii Piano Performance Major with a training emphasis in classical piano. I have taken multiple AMEB piano examinations, as well as performed in various recitals, culminating in an undergraduate music certification. I have been playing for 15 years, working with a variety of musical and performance styles, including individual performance, accompaniment, and musical collaboration. These experiences have given me the skills to tackle and communicate musical themes and ideas to students with a range of learning styles and needs, from beginning to advanced, classical to leisure.

About Me

I presently am a certified Maryland public music teacher. I was a full time traveling musician for 20 yrs. Maine-Florida, Midwest, USO tours top forty bands , country acts local and national, single act as a lounge act. I have a BS degree in music education and was a student of John B Southard for about 15 yrs. This type of background in performance allows me to teach students the importance of using your aural ( listening) skills as well the music theory needed to perform when needed. My experience with different styles of music include Blues ( New Orleans) jazz, Rock, country, as well classical.

About Me

I was born in Charlestown West Virginia. My musical career started at age 3 when my parents place a pair of drum sticks in my hands. I started playing drums in church then progress to play in middle school were I was apart of the jazz band and orchestra. With some very early lessons, I begin to blossom into a skillful drummer. I then continue to play in these bands in high school in addition became apart of the Milford Mill Academy Marching Band. In my sophomore year, I became the section leader of the drum line were I played the snare drum. I have 2 degrees in music theory from Deer Park Magnet school and Morgan State University. I have perform with many bands from different musical genres such as, gospel, funk, pop, jazz, blues, rock, latin, reggae, and r&b. In 2004 I became the only drumming instructor at The Psalms of David School Of Music.
