Soprano, Chelsea B. holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees form the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University.

She made her operatic debut in 2005 in Italy with Operafestival di Roma in their main stage production of Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro.” While in Rome Chelsea B. also was featured in Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater.” She has also been involved in other concert and oratorio works such as Villa-Lobos’s “Bachianas Brasileiras No.5”, Rutter’s “Requiem" and Mozart's "Requiem."

My name is Jacob and I have played guitar professionally in Baltimore and Northern Virginia for the past four years. I specialize in jazz and funk guitar but I also have extensive experience playing rock, latin, blues, and have even been developing the ability to play classical with a pick. I graduated from Goucher College in 2011 with a degree in Music Performance and Jazz Studies. I am a composer, arranger, and producer with a continual appreciation for music and the arts. I embarked on my musical journey at a young age, receiving instruction in basic piano, moving on to study classical piano, and then learning jazz piano. Soprano Belinda L. is quickly emerging as a sought-after performer both in opera and as a recitalist. Her performances have been described as “mesmerizing” and her crystal clear voice is full of a “beauty and sensitivity that makes her an immediate stand out.” Most recently, Belinda has appeared on the stage of Peabody Opera as Euridice in Gluck's Orfeo. When I first heard my dad play "Blackbird," I was hooked. I borrowed my little brother's guitar and started teaching myself from some old Hal Leonard books. There was something so exhilarating about making a piece of wood produce beautiful sounds. Soon I was taking lessons on electric guitar, playing Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. My teacher at the time pushed me toward classical guitar and I starting attending evening classes at the local community college when I was in high school. I am a recent Music Education graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park and I currently teach in Baltimore City Public Schools. I've had over four years experience as conductor of the Gamer Symphony Orchestra (a 130+ member orchestra with choir that performs video game music.) I have studied with Wanchi Huang at James Madison University for six years. At JMU, I earned a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music, both in violin performance. I am currently working on a doctoral degree at Catholic University of America, studying with Jody Gatwood. When I was a student at JMU, I taught several students privately. The students ranged from retirees to JMU faculty and students to adolescents. I am now teaching at Baltimore Talent Education Center, where I teach violin in small groups and individual lessons. Anybody can sing. That is my philosophy of teaching -- I have proven it to myself and to my students how true it is. If you can speak, you can sing!

I focus my lessons on building a strong understanding of the anatomy of the voice, self-awareness in your instrument, and confidence in your skill. I have experience in classical, opera, and musical theater styles, but that doesn't mean my students don't sing jazz, pop, or rock & roll! We start with the basics -- the classical teachings (breath and posture), and figure out how your voice works best. I emphasize technique in breathing and posture through a variety of stretching, relaxation, and yoga practices. In addition to learning a healthy vocal technique, your lessons will also incorporate other musical skills such as solfege (do re mi...like Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music), music theory, and foreign language skills using the International Phonetic Alphabet (it's really cool, trust me).

I have been teaching private lessons for close to 10 years and have been an active performer for even longer, playing in all different types of groups, from rock bands and jazz groups to orchestras and brass bands. I studied music at Frostburg State University (Bachelors) and the Peabody Conservatory (Masters). I can teach just about any age and skill level and cover anything you are interested in learning; whether its a certain style, genre, technique or song.

Creativity, skill and love of music are the key elements that I work to encourage in every student.
