As a teacher I fall somewhere in between strict and laid back. For instance, if you don't practice I won't scold you, but I will remind you that you can only be as good as you work to be. If you don't want to put in the effort you will waste your time and money, as well as not receive the results that you ...

Fun and engaging! She challenges my daughter with vocal drills and positive feedback. She also motivates my daughter to perfect classic Academy Award-winning ballad music like EY Harburg 'Over the Rainbow'. Great use of technology to keep my child practicing with in-home (in real time) singing lesson sent directly to my email for my daughter to listen during her practice. She has always been on time, willing to accommodate date change and extremely friendly. Highly recommend.

Vanessa is a very good voice teacher. She is talented, fun, patient, and encouraging. Her classes are interesting - we do a mixture of technique/skills and fun songs. I look forward to her class every week, and my singing has improved a lot since I started my lessons with her. I really like Vanessa as my voice teacher.

Jeff is a great guitar teacher. He knows everything about the guitar and music theory. Whenever I have a question, Jeff always goes into great detail to explain everything to make I understand it well. I have been with Jeff for almost a year and my playing and understanding of the guitar has greatly improved. Jeff also has a great record collection. Bass Guitar
Jeff is the Man!

I took lessons from Jeff on and off for about 15yrs. I started off on the bass and then tried learning some guitar. I really had a great time learning how to play the bass from Jeff, he makes it really fun and relevant to your needs. Some days, I really wanted to learn a song I heard on the radio or from a favorite band, and he was instantly able to teach it to me. Jeff is a great guy and really knows how to teach guitar. I would definitely recommend taking lessons from Jeff. He will go at your pace, and you will have a blast learning how to play the guitar!

Rock players: learn something about Jazz!

I came to Jeff as a rock player with /some/ skill, but stuck in the "pentatonic box". Jeff introduced me to the infinite possibilities of Jazz. I wasn't the most diligent student in the world, and even still, I learned some of the basics: how to read a lead sheet, how Jazz maps to the electric guitar, how to play faster, and /when/ to play faster. Jeff introduced me to some essential figures from the Jazz canon: Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Jobim. In retrospect, the most important takeaway from "Jeff lessons" was ear training. He has a clever set of techniques for learning to hear and recognize intervals. Take lessons with Jeff and you'll learn how build chords, and to easily pick apart a piece of music and transcribe it. On top of all that, he's a pretty cool guy. :) Solid gold!

Piano
Very impressed by Mrs. V.

I recently started taking lessons with Mrs. V and already feel like I'm progressing in my piano skills. Mrs. V exudes class and elegance, and you feel a sense of comfort and warmth upon meeting her. She is very knowledgeable in her craft, and the advice and tips she has given me during my lessons has really helped me with the pieces I'm currently learning. She's very patient and takes her time with you. She also really gets to know you as a person, which I find important.

I love that Mrs. V is also a composer and knows music theory. I have been struggling with theory for years, and she has been helping to educate me on theory during my lesson. She even assigns theory homework, which gives me that extra push to learn more. I am always encouraged to take notes during class as well. Mrs. V is just filled with information and it excites me to learn things I've never know before about piano technique, theory, and even the structure of a piano and how it works.

Mrs. V always encourages students to play in annual recitals, and I am looking forward to playing in the next one. My experience as a whole with Mrs. V has been great. I am very impressed with her thus far. I would recommend her to anyone who is serious about honing their piano skills.

I have been trying to come up with the perfect words to describe this teacher but I can't find anything I feel is good enough, other than the words wonderful and amazing. The way she teaches, and just her presence alone just blows me away, and I couldn't be more thankful to have met her and have the opportunity of her teaching me. If anyone is meant to be a teacher,it would be this person. She is so gifted.. Believe me when I say, if you have any doubt about choosing the right teacher, look no further because you just found her.

Amy has truly changed my life both as a performer and person. She helped me polish my vocal technique and singing methods, in addition to acting and audition coaching. She was very instrumental in helping me pick amazing audition songs and how to really give a memorable performance, even if it's just 16 bars at an open call! Before studying with Amy, I was a bit unfocused and rusty, now I am poised and confident in my singing abilities. Thank you Amy, you are an incredible and inspiring teacher!
