What People Are Saying About Us. (Pretty cool, right?)
I am a seasoned performer and teacher who loves to help people discover the great talent that lies within them! I have been performing for over 20 years, and teaching for about 13. I love working with people, especially children. I have an AA in music and specialize in helping vocalists overcome confidence issues due to obstacles (whether real or imagined) that are holding them back when they sing. I have traveled with choirs and small singing groups as well as performing as a soloist in musicals and with choirs. I have directed children's choirs for 15 years.

About Me
A passion for music is always the first thing! I love music and I love helping others realize their love for music. Being able to walk in front of any crowd, whether it's the steering wheel, 10 people or 10,000 people, and confidently perform a craft you have worked so hard to master is one of the most gratifying experiences for any musician. In addition, I know that the music industry can be a confusing world to try and navigate on your own. Helping you find a road map to your dream is the greatest thing that anyone can give you. This is why I teach!
A little bit on my background as a musician. I just recently graduated with a Masters Certificate in Music Business from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. I studied voice for 5 years with world renowned vocal coach Maestro David Kyle who has trained the likes of Florence Henderson, Ann Wilson and the Rockettes. In addition I have also studied guitar and music theory for several years. I was a member of a select jazz group for...

Joe H,
Incredibly Supportive and Comfortable
Rae was amazingly supportive and made my son very comfortable. He had never had any singing lessons or real experience, but performs regularly with his guitar. Rae's experience singing while playing, knowledge of the entire music process - from songwriting through performing and even marketing - made her time with my son worth every penny. I highly recommend her.

About Me
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Contemporary Vocal Performance at the University of Colorado Denver in 2009. I graduated summa cum laude (with highest honors) and won the Outstanding Graduate award from the College of Arts & Media. I even sang the National Anthem at my own graduation, in front of thousands of other graduates and their families, an honor usually reserved for faculty.
While earning my degree, I specialized in singing, songwriting and the recording arts. I also professionally competed in an honors a cappella group. During this time, I took a great deal of leadership and learned how to assist choir directors in warming up and teaching new vocal materials to large groups of students.
I learned how to get involved with my local community through producing musical events and have raised thousands of dollars for nonprofit organizations this way. Students of mine who choose to participate will be exposed to concert production and performance professionalism...
Experienced and highly qualified instrumental instructor.
University credentials from programs that remain amongst the best in music performance and education in the nation. These credentials are matched by 10 years of performance and teaching experience - New York and Seattle.
As an experienced soloist, orchestral and lead player, I have had the time to develop a deep physical connection to my instruments. This connection, gained after years of practice and performance, informs my approach to instruction. My goal is to impart technique and knowledge that assists the student to break through physical barriers and achieve maximum musical expression, no matter what the style.

Marcus is great. My son is having a super time working together. Last time we came home from a lesson he was very pumped and was telling his mother how much confidence he is gaining working with Marcus. Our son made the comment that Marcus is the first instructor he's been with that is interested in hearing about what he wants to play. Our son feels Marcus cares about his interests as well as his own.

About Me
Hello!
My name is Zarni and I am a recent graduate from the Berklee College of Music with a Bachelors in Music Education and Songwriting. During my time at Berklee I received two scholarships, The Korg Endowed for Early Childhood Education and the Scott Benson Scholarship, the highest award given for Songwriting. Most recently I won Most Promising Music Educator Award in the Choral department, an award given by the Dean of the Berklee College of Music.
I am just as passionate about writing, listening to, learning and analyzing the popular music that you listen to!
I have taught in several different environments. I taught for two years at the West End Boys and Girls Club (an after school program for teens ages 10-18) as a vocal and piano teacher. I also started a songwriting program for students that were interested in writing. We rapped together, played pop tunes together, learned how to sing harmonies together and I became a tutor to many of these students wanting to learn...
Hello! My Name is David and I'm here to share my experiences and love of music with you! I had my first solo performance at age 9, joining a local boys choir shortly thereafter. My first local touring experience was at with that choir at 10 years old. At age 12, I started doing Musical Theatre. At 15, I went on my first European tour with my High School Choir, and knew this was without a doubt what I had to do with my life, so I began private voice and piano lessons. After years of involvement in as much Music and Theatre I could get my hands on, I attended Cornish College of the Arts, where I received my Bachelor of Music in 2006.
At Cornish I studied a year of Classical Voice, but most of my time was spent as independent major, splitting my studies between Vocal Performance and Composition. I performed many styles of music from pop, to jazz, to new music, to electronic music, to improvised music, and had my works performed by several notable local ensembles of seasons...

A few things to say
I'm writing to sing praise for David. Working with him has been a wonderful experience! He brings positive energy and exuberance to each lesson. He's able to reign me in when I get too high and support me when I feel challenged. His criticism is always constructive and his sense of humor means we laugh & have fun during our lessons. His lesson notes online are a great guide for what I need to focus on. We've been a good fit for one another and I look forward to working with him each week.

About Me
I have a Master's in vocal performance from the University of Washington, where I sang the role of the Witch in "Hansel and Gretel". I've also sung Cherubino in "The Marriage of Figaro", the Mother in "The Consul", Third Lady in "The Magic Flute", and Hippolyta in "A Midsummer Night's Dream". I also sing with the Seattle Opera chorus, where I get to be around so many amazing singers everyday. I recently underwent a change from mezzo-soprano to soprano, and I'm loving it! My favorite song composers include Mahler and Brahms, and a few of my favorite operas include "The Barber of Seville", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", and Carmen.

About Me
I have loved music as long as I can remember. I know its cliché to say so, but it's true! :)
For me, having parents of different ethnicities and siblings that were much older than me, I was heavily impacted by the wide variety of music to which my family members listened. The force of this crayon box of rhythms and sounds captivated and affected me so much that it is the key experience that I draw from in making my own music today.
I grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska (a small town in the center of the state) so my only option for entertainment and fun was getting involved in the arts! I started performing at a very young age as both a dancer and a musician. I studied classical ballet, modern dance, hip hop and street dance, and world dance traditions throughout my formative years, which helped me to gain rhythmical fluency. I started my formal music training when I began to play the cello. From then on, I was hooked on the sound and I immersed myself in music as much as I could;...

Makala teaches cello to my 4 year old. I didn't think that we could make it through a 30 minute lesson, but Makala is really good at engaging and keeping my child's attention. We have been taking lessons for two months and my daughter now enjoys practicing and loves visiting Makala!

Great teacher!
I only had the opportunity to study with Jacob for a few months, but I really enjoyed our lessons and learned a lot. He's an excellent guitarist, is very well versed in music theory and has many strategies he can teach you to help learn different techniques and concepts. He's also a very cool guy and very dedicated to his music. If I wasn't moving I'd definitely continue my lessons with him.
