About Me

I am a professional educator of K-12 students with over 10 years of professional teaching experience in elementary and middle schools. I am a graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham where I student Music Performance and Elementary Education. I also hold a M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from Cambridge College; located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I began playing piano at the age of eight years old and began training in classical piano. As I my skills advanced, I began to specialize in jazz, gospel and contemporary music styles. I have spent the last 20 years holding various music related positions in churches across Alabama and the metro Atlanta area. As church music director, I have taught youth and adult choirs while I accompanied them on the piano. My musical groups have flourished as winners of various competitions and shared the spotlight and stage with a few notable Grammy award winning artists. About Me

I have been first trained as a professional opera singer as a child in Korea. For many years, I have performed on stage. When I came to America, I have continued to pursue education in voice (and piano) at Troy University and at Baptist College of Florida while seeking other degrees.

In addition to my main focus on vocal training, I am professionally trained to play instruments such as piano, guitar, flute, and violin. I have learned to play piano and guitar to initially accompany my own singing, but I have continued to study these instruments to this day. I have been a main church pianist, wedding pianist, collaboration pianist, and etc. For flute and violin, I have been a member of ensemble groups and orchestra (and symphonic band) and performed on various occasions.

About Me

Originally from Maryland, Calen J. is a Douglasville, Georgia resident with a burning passion for music. His involvement with the performing arts dates back to 1994 where he took up the alto saxophone as his primary instrument, and 1996 when piano became his secondary; since then he has dealt heavily with band performance, where most of his expertise lies.

Mr. J's experience includes but is not limited to:

-4 of years of marching and concert band at Morehouse College
-Served 3 years as a student arranger for the marching band
-Served 1 year as a vocal/general music teacher at Concord Elementary School in District Heights, MD
-A member of the King's Men Choir of Ebenezer AME Church in Ft. Washington, MD, for 1 year; sang 2nd tenor
-A member of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, Inc.
-Over 10 years of on-stage performance experience as a vocalist and Hiphop artist.

About Me

I absolutely love music and teaching piano and clarinet! Having studied both clarinet and piano at the University of Georgia, I am patient and encouraging with both children and adults. I have taught piano in my home for seven years now and have children of my own; so I understand that each person is an individual and has different needs and strengths. I also teach private clarinet lessons and am currently playing with the Gwinnettt Community Band. I enjoy teaching beginning students as well as more advanced students. It is such a huge joy to see a student grow in their understanding of music and gain the confidence that comes with it!

About Me

I have enjoyed teaching and helping students of all ages for 20 years in achieving their goals in learning to play their instruments. Educated at Columbus State University with a Music Education degree, I teach many instruments including piano, guitar, including Classical style, banjo, saxophone, clarinet and flute. If you would like to start on the trumpet or trombone, I can help you as well. I specialize in working with the first time beginner, giving them a solid foundation in instrumental technique and musical knowledge, as well as helping those who have some experience on their instruments and who are looking to advance.

About Me

I have a vocal performance degree from Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia. After graduating in May of 2011 I began my Master's degree in vocal performance at North Georgia College and State University. I've performed professionally on stage in multiple musical reviews and musicals, sung in two select touring ensembles, have extensive solo/choral training and experience arranging and composing music for voice and piano.

I began playing the piano at the age of 5 and have continued to pursue my musical passion through piano as well as through voice. I have two years of private piano and voice teaching experience as well as experience conducting and rehearsing choral and theater groups. My teaching aptitude includes beginning piano for adult and young students, as well as voice to students of ALL age and experience levels. Recruited by numerous musicians for their projects, I've had a great deal of experience in the recording studio.
