I hold a Bachelor of Science in Music. I teach beginners in piano and guitar. Through a student centered approach, my goal is to teach the foundations of music. Those foundations include:

All of my method books are organized into units. it is my goal to help a student FINISH a book once the lessons have begun. This is an achievable goal with a lot patience, practice, and fun!

I'm a professional guitarist with a background in jazz, heavy metal, blues, classical, and bossa nova. In 2006 I graduated from the Berklee College of Music and since then I have become lead guitarist and keyboardist for an Atlanta based rock band. In May of 2009, after a year of being together, the band released its debut album, In Prison Till the End, to great critical acclaim.

Whether you are a beginning guitarist or a seasoned professional, I can expand and enhance your playing in any direction you choose. I look forward to getting to know you as a student and learning about what course of study will bring out not only your understanding of music but a musical style that is unique to you.

I am a professional guitarist/bassist with more than 15 years experience playing in bands of various styles including hard rock, metal, jazz and country. I have toured across the U.S. and have shared the stage with acts as varied as Drivin' & Cryin', Seven Mary Three, Better Than Ezra and Quiet Riot.

I studied classical guitar and composition at Asbury College and later more in depth guitar studies rock, jazz, and classical at the Atlanta Institute of Music. I have been teaching steadily for the past ten years as well as spending my time with various other musical projects such as leading worship for my church, performing for various parties and weddings, and composing and recording music for a short film. I use my experience and broad understanding of music to inform the way that I teach, so that my students have a robust experience of all aspects of music.

I have eight years teaching experience and have a bachelors in guitar performance. I attended AIM on bass guitar and have been playing for eighteen years. Through my education and experience I have had success in teaching the fundamentals and getting my students up to speed by teaching technique and strong music fundamentals. I teach all ages and am enthusiastic about conveying my love for the instrument.

I am a highly experienced professional musician, who has performed and shared the stage with national artists such as Derek Trucks, Maceo Parker, Mother's Finest, Arrested Development, G-Love and Special Sauce, Tone Loc, and Gregg Allman. I currently play with Deep Blue Sun and HEADLINER in the Atlanta area and Southeast region. My students receive fundamental knowledge, but more importantly, they have fun. I love music, and I love displaying that passion to my students.

Graduated from Georgia Southern in 2001, with a bachelor degree in music education.

Have worked for Atlanta public schools as a band director since Fall 2002.

Private lessons are taught on piano, guitar, and all the band instruments.

I also have a deep passion for Disc jockeying with a bias towards reggae and dance music.

I'm a freelance drummer and teacher working in the Gwinnett County area. I have been playing in and around Atlanta since 1979 and moved here in 1981. I have been teaching for the Gwinnett School Of Music since 1997 and currently have 25 full-time students. I continue to perform on a regular basis with several local acts and work a few months a year with a local middle school percussion section. I received an early education in marching and symphonic music under band director John V. Mazza and had the privilege of marching with the 1st place trophy winning Prince George High School Band of Petersburg, Virginia in the 1969 Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena, California. During the 70s I toured throughout the southeast and midwest with a variety of bands based out of Panama City, and Miami, Florida.

Qualifications: 18+ years of playing experience, 10+ years of teaching experience, Honors graduate of the Atlanta Institute of Music, 15+ years of composing/songwriting experience

Teaching Philosophy: In all my years as a musician, I have seen firsthand how musical training benefits the student. It is about so much more than just learning to play the notes along with your favorite song; it actually enriches lives by fostering creativity, confidence, discipline, & self-expression, and it enhances problem-solving and learning skills that students carry with them outside the practice room. It is with this in mind that I take such pride in teaching! I teach students of all ages and skill levels, and I tailor each lesson to the needs and interests of the student. I help the student to continually set new goals, then break them down into small, manageable steps that will help the student grow into the musician he/she wants to be!

I have been first trained as a professional opera singer as a child in Korea. For many years, I have performed on stage. When I came to America, I have continued to pursue education in voice (and piano) at Troy University and at Baptist College of Florida while seeking other degrees.

In addition to my main focus on vocal training, I am professionally trained to play instruments such as piano, guitar, flute, and violin. I have learned to play piano and guitar to initially accompany my own singing, but I have continued to study these instruments to this day. I have been a main church pianist, wedding pianist, collaboration pianist, and etc. For flute and violin, I have been a member of ensemble groups and orchestra (and symphonic band) and performed on various occasions.

I started playing guitar while in high school. Then, I furthered my studies in guitar at the Atlanta Institute of Music (2 Years) and Georgia Perimeter College (2 Years) where I studied Music Theory and Jazz. It was during these few years when I played in several rock, Bluegrass and Jazz improvisational bands, that played out regularly in Metro-Atlanta. I have also run several "Open Mic Nights" in several restaurants and bars. I have studied with Trey Wright at Kennesaw State University and recently graduated with a B.A. in Jazz Guitar (Summer 2011), with a concentration in Jazz Performance. While at Kennesaw State, I spent 3 years performing in the KSU Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Guitar Ensemble, and Jazz Combo Bands.
I have been teaching guitar and music since 1999. I have had extensive experience teaching Guitar, Bass, and Mandolin.
