About Ronald

I am an experienced professional with a background in music performance, education, composition, theory and arranging. *** Lesson Details *** Few musicians or music students have identical goals, musical interests or physical size. So, It is NECESSARY to customize the course of study to meet student requirements. There are common issues for any serious pursuit of learning involving the guitar; right and left hand technique, fingerboard knowledge, chord knowledge, reading and interpretation. However, to progress, it is also necessary for the student to practice daily. I try to maintain a healthy balance between the focus on performance and technical issues. *** Studio Equipment *** 16 Channel Mixer for Recording and Playback 16 Channel Audio Interface for Recording and Playback

My years of teaching have helped me to understand what it takes to make consistent progress in learning the guitar. My approach is focused on helping the student acquire habits that will aid them in forging solid technique and musicianship, consequently removing limitations to allow access to all the joy that music has to offer.

About Wes

I studied classical guitar and composition at Asbury College and later more in depth guitar studies rock, jazz, and classical at the Atlanta Institute of Music. I have been teaching steadily for the past ten years as well as spending my time with various other musical projects such as leading worship for my church, performing for various parties and weddings, and composing and recording music for a short film. I use my experience and broad understanding of music to inform the way that I teach, so that my students have a robust experience of all aspects of music. *** Lesson Details *** I have a lesson plan that I follow for beginning students to get them through the basics. As a teacher I am laid back, and positive, but always try to give the student a clear reflection of how they are ...

Excellent Instructor

Wes is an excellent instructor. He is patient, clear, encouraging, fun, and totally professional. I highly recommend him to anyone (young or old) wanting to learn the guitar.

Wes listens to what the student wants to learn and sets his lessons to help the student achieve their goals. Our lessons are in the instructor's studio, which is a safe, accessible, and clean environment.

I look forward to our future sessions and continuing my guitar learning under his instruction.

I found Aimee through TakeLessons after not being very satisfied with my daughter's previous guitar teacher. From my first conversation with Aimee, I knew choosing her was going to be the right decision. Her experience and expertise shows as she knows how to teach and is good at it. My wife and I feel blessed to have found Aimee and that she is our daughter's teacher now. We are planning to have her start teaching our youngest son piano.

My son, Joe, has been taking guitar lessons from Mrs. Aimee since he was in kindergarten. He is now in third grade. In second grade, he also started taking voice lessons from Mrs. Aimee. She has been a God-sent to us! She is a professional, hard-working guitar instructor. She also worked with our crazy schedule and taught Josiah through Skype a few times when we could not make it to her location on time. Mrs. Aimee is a consistent teacher who also is very patient and loving with her students. She made the lessons fun and interesting for my son by incorporating the kind of music genres that he liked. She is not only Josiah's guitar teacher but has now become a friend of the family.

I just had my first lesson with Aimee. Even though it is only my first I have no qualms about testifying to Aimee's ability as a teacher. I am very impressed. Aimee was boundless with her praise, encouragement and enthusiasm yet she tempered everything with constructive criticism which zeroed in on my particular needs. You must understand that I had had 2 years of classical guitar lessons (and I use the word 'lessons' loosely) with another instructor not associated with "Take Lessons", and I was at a point where I still felt like a novice and was even asking myself whether or not I would ever get any better. Fortunately for me, I found Aimee. She made my lesson time fun, sorely lacking with my previous instructor. She made it exciting! Her praise and encouragement was genuine and heartfelt. Her knowledge of her craft and instrument was extremely impressive. In my opinion, she is a gifted teacher and I very much look forward to a long and rewarding association. Need I say it? Well, I will anyway. Aimee is a very competent teacher and I highly recommend her. My time with her was well spent and productive. She has given me hope and excitement again about learning to play guitar.

Students may start at age 9. Students will learn to read notation, tablature, and chord diagrams. Emphasis on understanding music theory as it pertains to this instrument and eventually gaining the ability to listen and interpret music independently. Much emphasis on fun, as well!

David P. Atlanta, GA

I've been teaching guitar for almost 20 years.

I am comfortable teaching from a book, but I generally teach guitar based upon the student's musical tastes and goals.

I can get beginners playing songs quickly and I can develop finger skills, soloing, and more advanced chording in students with more experience.

About David

I have a recent background check from a CNA (nursing assistant) certification course which I took in the Fall and Winter of 2013-14. I will gladly email it upon request. I grew up in Birmingham, AL, Boston, MA, and Cleveland, OH, and was classically trained on violin in all three cities. I began studying theory in 7th grade at The Alabama School of Fine Arts. Upon graduating Emory university in 1992 I played professionally in Destin, FL as a bassist, guitarist, violinist, and vocalist. I relocated to Atlanta in November of 2013. I have taught individuals and group lessons on violin, bass, and guitar since 1997 and for several consecutive years at Playground Music in Fort Walton Beach.

Teaching Guitar Lessons in Atlanta

By Paul E. - Atlanta Guitar Teacher

Atlanta is an outstanding place to teach music. The city has a diverse, cultured population with a fabulous appreciation for the arts. As a TakeLessons instructor, it is an honor to teach guitar lessons in Atlanta, a city with such an expressive urban landscape.

My students have very different musical backgrounds. Some have performed in school or church groups, while others have no experience playing music at all. Their goals and interests in music are just as unique. Many of them are working toward becoming live performers, while others are only seeking a private and personal development of their music ability. Nevertheless, it is not difficult to motivate my students to achieve the goals they set for themselves during their guitar lessons in ...
