Zach is a New York based composer, performer and educator. Beginning with piano at age four and later picking up bass guitar, he has worked in a wide variety of musical styles and genres. Zach holds Undergraduate and Master's degrees in classical composition from Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Richard Danielpour and Nils Vigeland. With works ranging from screen to stage to concert hall, Zach's music has been heard throughout the New York area, from Lincoln Center to indie movie houses.

As a keyboardist and bass player, he has performed and toured with local, regional and national acts, specializing in funk, dance and rock.

Zach has over ten years of teaching experience in composition, music theory, piano and bass guitar, with students of all ages and experience levels.

Born in New York City and always surrounded by different music, Michael began studying at a very early age with the piano. Later on, he got serious with the upright and electric bass and got his degree from SUNY Purchase in jazz performance. At SUNY Purchase, Michael studied with some of the best teachers in New York such as Hal Galper, Todd Coolman, and Kermit Driscoll. He has a lot of experience as a performer in New York City as both a leader and a sideman in many different styles of music. His formal background is jazz but he can be seen regularly performing with pop, rock, hip hop, funk, and soul groups.

I started playing drums in my parents' basement when I was 9 years old. It was just me, a stereo, and a bunch of cardboard boxes I made into my first drumset. Every day, I listened to to my favorite songs over and over again to figure out how to play them. To me, there was nothing more awesome in the world than music.

Since then my musical journey has taken me far and wide. I've studied percussion and composition with world class teachers, toured Europe, composed music for commercials, co-written award winning songs, and performed with a variety of artists at such venues as the Hard Rock Cafe, BB King's, World Cafe, 55 Bar, The Living Room, The Bitter End, and many others. And the one thing that hasn't changed? I'm still totally in awe of it all.

These experiences have helped me to create my own style of teaching that's tailored to each student, whether they want to learn music purely for the enjoyment of it, or take their studies further. Sharing my knowledge and life...

As a younger brother at the age of five, I began studying the piano because my older sister did. After my foundation in music strengthened I fell in love with the trumpet. At first, each note took time to develop and I enjoyed the challenge. The trumpet allowed me to travel all over the Southeast later in life and even to China with a 1940's Radio Show. I enjoyed many top-level bands the kindled my love and passion for good music. I want to share that kindling with my students in a nurturing and guiding situation, just like my teachers gave me.
I used to go to lessons and become so motivated and inspired that I thought I could change the world. I always knew that I would want to give back exactly that. Music is my foundation, motivation, and inspiration. From my first music-making experiences in high school playing drum set student, to my days as a Music Therapy student at the John J. Cali School of Music, I am constantly searching for opportunities to make music and learn more about music.

In my search of musical opportunities of I have the great pleasure of playing with many different people, in many different musical genres ranging from Jazz Rock to Funk, all the way to Classical, and even to music from across the globe as a Tabla, Riqq, and Mbira student.

Throughout college, and following graduation I worked as a private music instructor developing lesson plans and helping my students develop their relationship with music while reaching their musical goals.

As a Board Certified Music Therapist I have also had the great fortune of working with all different kinds of people, from 5 to 100 and from all over the developmental spectrum find ways to make music.

I graduated from the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities in 2010, where I majored in Vocal Music Ed. and Theatre Arts. After that I substitute taught for a year and a half focusing on music. During this time I taught private voice lessons to middle school and high school students and co-directed a musical.

My favorite part of teaching is getting to know my students. I can customize each lesson to a students needs, making learning fun and interesting.

Born and raised in New York City, Matthew "Matt" is an accomplished and respected musician. Matt has been playing guitar for over 20 years and piano for over 10 years and is currently involved in several projects including three bands which have performed in some of NYC's hottest venues including but not limited to CBGB"s, The Bitter End, Crash Mansion, and Kenny's Castaways. Currently Matt is a finalist for an international music competition for Indie acts where he showcases his guitar and vocal abilities.
Matt was formerly educated at Queensborough College. He is competent in multiple areas such as theory, technique, sight reading, ear training, and recording engineering. He has studied under noted instructors such as George Bien and Tom Cipriani. I graduated from Mannes College of Music with a BS in violin performance. While at Mannes, I was a student of Sally Thomas and other primary teachers include Claudia Schaer, Amy Barlowe and Oscar Ravina. I have had chamber music studies with Ann Setzer, Peter Prosser, Chin Kim, Gena Raps, and members of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and NY Philharmonic. Masterclasses include those with Cho-Liang Lin, Pamela Frank, and Ida Kavafian. I am graduate of the Mannes Pre-College division Honors program and alumna of both the New York Youth Symphony and Meadowmount School of Music.

I have had 15 years of teaching experience, and I also have a minor in psychology with a specialization in developmental and educational psychology.

I am also registered with the Suzuki Association of America and have completed Suzuki teacher training for books 1 - 4 at NY's School for Strings. I am also currently undergoing training for Suzuki books 5 - 8.

My name is Sarah G. and I'm a NYC-based pianist and teacher. I have a B.A. from Boston University in musicology and philosophy and am currently pursuing an additional post-baccalaureate diploma from Mannes The New School for Music in piano performance.

I have been teaching for five years. My students have ranged in age from 4 years-adult, and have included students with developmental and learning disabilities. All of my students are encouraged to find music they love and to work hard at learning to play it.

I perform regularly in both classical and more contemporary genres. I currently play with several bands, including rock, folk, and pop music. Although my lessons are primarily classical-based, I'm happy to work on other contemporary genres with interested students.

I am an experienced professional opera singer who enjoys all styles of singing. I also have a strong professional education background that allows me to carefully assess the needs of each student and then create clear, attainable goals for the student's success. Students walk out of each lesson excited about their progress!
I also have a strong piano background. I was an accompanist for my children's choirs for a number of years and am very comfortable teaching students who are interested in learning about the piano. I enjoy using a piano curriculum that is clearly organized and that uses interesting music.
