Piano, Guitar, Vocal Instructor – Current
Certified Music Teacher - Private studio and student's home instructor for elementary school aged children and special education adults. Advanced Music Theory Educator.
If you or your child is interested in taking piano/keyboard, guitar, voice lessons, or if your child is in need of academic tutoring, I would really like to be your instructor! You have the option of my traveling to your home, or you are welcome to my home studio, conveniently located in Anaheim. To tell you a little about myself, I was raised in a musical family introduced to music at a very young age. I took piano, organ, guitar, glockenspiel, and voice lessons for many years, and participated in music recitals. I enjoyed singing, and with my music theory background, participated in vocal/piano recitals, involved myself in every school musical, joined every choir, participated in out-of-state voice sight reading competitions, and ultimately joined the New York All State Choir.
I tutor beginner and intermediate music theory for students of all ages.
I love teaching, and enjoy passing on that joy, knowledge, and experience to my students! I tailor lessons according to the student's goals, abilities, and preference in musical styles. Whether you're wanting to learn the violin to be a virtuoso or just as a personal hobby, I believe you should have fun with the learning process! I am passionate about music and love teaching aspiring students! I am active as a violin teacher, chamber musician, performer, and 1st violinist of the Pacific Coast Quartet. I hold a Masters of Music Degree in Violin Performance from the Cole Conservatory of Music and have been playing the violin since the age of four. I have been teaching private lessons for 17 years and have experience in teaching group and private lessons to students of all ages, coaching ...
Some people think that music theory is the "boring part" of learning music. Others think that theory is only part of learning how to read music, when in fact theory can complement ANYONE's ability to read, hear, perform, and even write music at any level.
I am a pianist. I am also a keyboardist, programmer, and music producer. But the title I probably most identify with is "composer." I realized early on that my own passion for performing was fueled by my hunger to actually CREATE music. So I set out to learn from the masters. I won competitions and scholarships in high school, then double-majored in piano and composition at the University of Kansas where I obtained my bachelor's degree before going on to record, write, and produce rock & electronic dance music. I love being a CREATOR of music; and that love just extends quite naturally into the collaborative creative process we have come to know as "teaching." There is no greater joy than creating music...except maybe seeing someone else I have trained and inspired create something ...
BA in music composition. Theory, writing, arranging, electronic and digital techniques
Hi, I'm Glenn. Thank you for viewing my profile. I've been teaching students for over 20 years, playing all styles and levels of music, from day-one beginners to seasoned pros seeking to sharpen their playing skills. I teach both traditional notation and tablature, writing my own teaching methods in both formats. I can transcribe any song or solo for you, and can arrange the music to fit your particular level of skill. I earned a B.A. in Music Composition and an A.A. in music theory, and have worked as a professional musician since graduation. I play in a variety of bands that cover rock, jazz, surf, oldies, and country, and also write and arrange music for those bands as well as writing my own music that can be heard on my own YouTube channel. The first song I learned to play ...
