I have sung all over the world, as a soloist with a mission’s organization The New America Singers. We sang in Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, Russia and Germany, with our largest audience being over 6,000 people. I was also a missionary in Germany for a year, getting to use my musical abilities to spread the gospel by putting on concerts, directing a German Children’s musical, vocal coaching, and loved every moment. After a few years of basic training, I began to study classically under Juilliard graduate, Tonja Voorhees until 2008, when she retired. Born and raised in Burley, Idaho, my parents purchased a piano from an auction for my sister and I when I was seven. After a family friend taught me my first scale, I played it non-stop. My parents both decided it was time to invest in lessons so I could learn to play at least more than one thing! I am an experienced music teacher and educator who can cater to all types of music learning. I graduated from William Jewell College with a degree in Flute Performance. Shortly after, I finished my K-12 Vocal and Instrumental certification and Master's of Arts in Teaching. Students get to learn their preferred style of music at their own pace. Piano student will begin working out of the Alfred or Faber piano series book and then as they progress be allowed to add music of their favorite style. Vocal students and teacher work together to provide a balanced fundamental of how to sing using music the student will enjoy. Since 2004 I have gigged, recorded, and wrote/ co-wrote music in Nashville, TN. When I graduated in 2008 I went on the road for a couple years with an artist named Dave Hunt when I returned from the road I wasn't quite sure what to do next. I decided that I might enjoy teaching so for the 4 years i have taught around 30-35 students a week and also teach high school music history and music theory. I simply use the college curriculum that I received and fine tune it for students from all levels of playing (basically like getting a college music lesson for much, much cheaper!)
