I have a digital recording studio at home, and regularly perform with bands as a singer, guitarist, saxophonist, bassist, percussionist, and as a sound engineer. I perform as a music therapist, singing and playing tunes with an acoustic guitar. I wrote, performed and recorded my own album which made it up to the 2nd round of the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, and was previously a voting member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Grammy Committee and NARAS (National Association or the Recording Arts and Sciences.) I started piano lessons from age 5 and just kept picking up more instruments and gear as I got older and never stopped learning or enjoying it

I teach drummers of all skill levels and ages. I teach the rudiments, beats, fills, notation, sight-reading, and also try to make lessons fun by allowing students to learn songs that they listen to, while encouraging creativity.
I've been playing drums for the past 20 years, and have been a studio drummer for multiple albums, while touring both nationally and internationally with different music groups. I've been teaching drums for the past 5 years, and have seen over 30 students become more skilled musicians over that span of time. In addition to teaching drums, I'm also a substitute assistant teacher for the BCIU in the Reading School District, and have a bachelors of science in Youth Ministry from Valley Forge Christian College.
My goal with teaching drums is to make lessons 1. affordable, 2. fun, and 3. effective. I believe that music plays an important role in the lives of humans, and it is very beneficial to be able to play an instrument. For myself, drumming is more than just a hobby; ...
Do you have two left arms and two left feet (or two rights of each if you're left-handed), and have no idea how to coordinate behind your drumset?
Do you want to be able to accurately listen to a song and "play it" on your steering wheel as you drive?
Do you constantly have trouble maintaining speed, slowing down or speeding up for no reason?
How about wanting to go all-out and learning those crazy double-bass parts and snare rolls popular in today's extreme metal?
I require a practice pad for lessons to learn rudiments and coordination techniques, even if it's just a mouse pad taped to a heavy book to start with. If you continue taking lessons, I can recommend the best practice pad for you.
I typically will teach and write drums using a combination of tablature and standard sheet music. Tablature a simple set of lines and X marks that are much easier to read, and once learned will instantly give you access to thousands of songs.
You'll learn how to keep time with ...
