Mayila has studied dance at Ballet Met Academy in Columbus, Ohio for seven years upon moving to Washington, D.C. She attend George Mason University acquiring a BFA in Music Performance with a minor in dance studies. In the metropolitan area, Mayila has studied ballet and modern dance at the Washington Ballet for four years and has continued those studies at George Mason University. Formally a contemporary dance teacher at the Metropolitan School of the Arts, Mayila is now looking for a more flexible teaching schedule.

I am a full-time professional dancer who has performed nationally and internationally including the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, DC's City Rhythms Festival, the VelocityDC Festival, as well as others. In my dance lessons, students will strengthen their technique, creativity, individuality and showmanship through a warm-up, movement activities, and challenging movement combinations. Students will increase their knowledge and physical vocabulary and leave each lesson a better dancer, performer and person. In the midst of learning students will also be required to have fun!
