Trina G. New Hyde Park, NY

About Trina

I'm a friendly, patient, enthusiastic, experienced teacher, joyfully instructing piano professionally since 1999. Music transcends words, and I have a deep understanding of music/ piano, both personal/ experiential, and technical/ academic which I truly enjoy sharing with my students.

A classically-trained pianist, I've been taking piano lessons since age 6 and playing "by ear" from early childhood. I continued to study piano throughout elementary school, high school, and college where I studied piano, music history and theory.
I studied and completed fieldwork and internships in music therapy and psychology, and have extensive experience working with students with special needs.

In graduate school, I studied piano and music theory under David Holzman, ...

Love my piano lessons

My piano lessons are the highlight of my week and if I made so much progress in 6 months it's because of Trina patience and skills. She always points me in the right direction and I hope to progress much more.
Sarah K. Glen Head, NY

About Sarah

Hi my name is Sarah. I have a passion for teaching students of all ages and abilities and I can help students achieve success while motivating them and generating significant interest in all aspects of musical enjoyment and appreciation.

Music education improves cognitive abilities and strenghtens the brains’ attention networks. It teaches students how to work in a collaborative environment which teaches them patience, how to think critically, make decisions and develop listening skills. Music making builds a sense of community.

By learning what background in music my students have and in determining what level of interest they have in the subject, I will show them I am truly interested in their development. These lessons will develop their talents and help them ...

I have worked with Sarah over the past year assisting her with the development of her music teaching business, and in particular as an editor for the website of her business, Eskay’s Music Lessons. In working with and mentoring Sarah, I have come to know her on both a personal and professional level. What is immediately obvious about Sarah is her love of music, and her desire to share this with as many people as possible through teaching. Sarah is developing her business so she may teach others to embrace their own musical talents as she has embraced her own. I have spent many hours with Sarah and have observed how dedicated and devoted she is to operating a successful business and ensuring all of her customers receive the best music instruction available. In my opinion, Sarah’s determination, work-ethic, patience, and enthusiasm towards music and her business goals will undoubtedly result in an exceptional business to match her exceptional musical talents.

Sarah is a very passionate and creative person when it comes to the arts. While student teaching with me, she was always professional. She was actively engaged in the learning process and worked hard at helping the students become successful musicians and learners. In the class, students would be presented with challenging material that gave them to space to get at a deeper level of music learning. They asked questions. They wanted to learn. As a teacher, she is calm and patient. She is capable of capturing the needs of students while using their interests in the lesson. She can relate to them and that is what makes her so easy to talk to. Sarah was greatly appreciated and respected by the students at school. She exposed them to new music and a encouraged them to listen and look at music differently. Working with Sarah was a great experience. She and I would bounce ideas around until we found exactly what would "click" with the students. She is not only a skilled and talented musician herself, but a teacher with the students' best interests at heart.

Sarah is a very talented, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and skilled musician and instructor. She worked with both my children for many years and helped them feel at ease with the piano, while cultivating their efforts. She never put any undue pressure on them but she allowed them to flourish at their own pace as long as they went forward. She even used their own interests at times to motivate them in their learning, for example, when my daughter wanted to become familiar with Beatles music. Sarah found arrangements that were at my daughter’s skill level at the time. Sarah was very accommodating with schedules and had very good rapport with both my children who ranged from ages 5 to 14, in all the years we were together.

About VJ

Hello All!
I am a guitarist/composer/educator who holds a M.A. Jazz Performance degree from the Aaron Copeland School of Music at Queens College. I also have a B.A. Music degree with a concentration in classical guitar performance from Buffalo State College in my hometown of Buffalo, NY. However, most of my training and experience comes from playing many different styles of music with many brilliant musicians on the scenes of Buffalo and New York.
If there is just one thing I know about music, it is that playing music is supposed to be fun and satisfying! It is my job to help my students maintain that mindset as they navigate through the obstacles of musical growth. I am looking forward to teaching all of you, as well as learning from all of you myself. Now, lets make some ...

The Best Drum Teacher

Jason is a fantastic drum teacher. I would highly recommend his services. Jason is a professional, dedicated, great personality and caring person. He is the type of person after meeting him we felt like we have known him for years. He taught my son not just to play the drums but also to be a performer. My son would always come home excited after lessons. Jason makes it fun for my son to learn. Within a few months my son played at our school talent show and he gave the performance of his life! The drums helped build up my sons self- esteem. Jason offers a private drum lesson at an affordable price. We are extremely happy and would definitely recommend him to everyone.

Michael is an wonderful teacher! He is extremely patient, very encouraging, informative, personable, and easy to talk to. I have always wanted to play an instrument so I decided to take trumpet lessons. I am very happy Michael and I crossed paths. I work full time and he is very flexible with my schedule. He has coached me not only on how to play, but how to care for my trumpet- today my lesson included how to clean it. I am in awe with the how many instruments he can play. This is also fun for me because after just a few lessons, we are playing duets together! I am also excited that after a short period of time, I am actually reading music. Overall an amazing teacher that I would recommend for any instrument because of his vast knowledge in music!
