TakeLessons.com Affiliate Program FAQ

Who can participate?

Anyone with a legitimate, non-adult content related business can participate. Because we offer marketing mediums that are both online and offline, you can be an affiliate even if you don't have a website. Back to top »

How much does it cost?

Nothing! If you are approved and accepted into the program, you have access to all the creative materials for free. If you decide to use one of the print options, you are responsible for any printing and material costs. Back to top »

What if I don't have a website?

There are offline marketing options built into the program so you don't have to have a website to participate. As long as your specific affiliate code is attached to your marketing piece and the customer calling in knows to use the code, you will get credit for the sale. Back to top »

How much will I get paid and when?

For each initial sale generated that results in a completed lesson, you will receive $30. You will not receive additional commissions if the student continues to take lessons beyond the first one. Commissions are paid out monthly based on a $50 minimum payout. So if you only get one sale for the month, your commission will be held until you meet at least $50 in commissions.

What is the process for earning commission?

The process:

    Affiliate:

  1. Sign-Up for an affiliate account and Log-On to your account after you've been approved.
  2. Find affiliate ads and Post ads on your website or utilize an approved offline method.
  3. User/Customer:

  4. Your user/customer clicks on the ads on your website or calls TakeLessons using your affiliate code.
  5. User/Customer books a lesson through TakeLessons.com.
  6. User/Customer completes their first lesson with their TakeLessons instructor.
  7. TakeLessons:

  8. TakeLessons credits your commission!

What has to happen for me to get paid?

A customer has to pay for a sale using your affiliate promotional code and must complete their first lesson for you to get paid. You only receive a commission on the first lesson taken. You also have to meet a minimum of a $50 payout before a check is issued. If you do not meet this minimum, your check will be held until the next pay cycle.

Why did I not get paid this month?

We either did not get a completed sale tracked back to your code or you did not reach the $50 minimum payout for the month. If someone has paid for their lesson but has not physically taken the lesson yet, it is not yet recorded as a completed sale.

What if my customer books a lesson and then quits before they take it?

In order for you to get paid, your customer must have completed their first lesson. If they cancelled the lesson before taking it, you will not receive a commission as this is not an official sale. Back to top »

Do I have to live in the US to be an affiliate?

At this time, yes, you must be located in the US to be part of the program. Special exceptions may apply so please contact us if you fall into this category. Back to top »

How do I access the TakeLessons creative?

Once you have been approved and accepted into the program, you will have access to your own online account where you can access all of the different creatives available to you. All banners, links and printed pieces are specifically coded to track your sales. If you change the coding for any reason, you risk your sales not being tracked correctly which would result in a loss of commissions. Back to top »

What forms of creative are available?

Can I use more than one of the creative pieces?

Yes! If you have a website and use our banners but want to distribute flyers in your store or via direct mail, go for it! The more coverage you can get the more money you can make! Back to top »

How can I use the banners or other marketing materials?

Banners and text links can be used on your websites, blogs, email blasts or personal networks. Printed pieces such as flyers can be used many different ways. You can hand them out or display in your retail store. You can mail them along with direct mail pieces or mailed products. You can even include the codes in your own printed pieces (flyers, ads, etc) Back to top »

Can I create my own creative (banners, text links, etc)?

All online pieces such as banners and/or text links must pulled directly from your online account as the tracking codes are already built. Printed pieces must be downloaded from the site as well. If you would like to use a different creative, please contact us beforehand for approval. We have the right to disapprove any pieces at our own discretion. Back to top »

Can I use my own tracking code in addition to the one attached to the creative?

We provide tracking on your online account so please do not attach your own tracking source as well. You risk affecting our tracking system which could result in untracked sales where you would not receive a commission. Back to top »

Can I use other marketing sources to help boost sales?

You may use your own website, newsletter or printed materials to encourage sales as an affiliate. You cannot use the TakeLessons or TakeLessons.com name in search marketing campaigns, keyword bids, meta-tag or unauthorized URL purchases. You must only represent TakeLessons as an affiliate and you may not claim to be a part of the company and/or it's website. You may not copy the likeness of the TakeLessons logo or website and you may not frame your site to incorporate the TakeLessons website. TakeLessons has the right to remove your ads and your account if you violate these terms. Back to top »

Can I refer another site to join the Affiliate Program?

Yes, if you have another site that you would recommend to be an Affiliate, you can refer them our sub-affiliate program and actually earn an additional 10% commission on their payouts! For instance, if you refer a webmaster and they join the program and earn $300 for the month, you would receive an additional $30 on top of your regular commissions. Back to top »

How can I track my progress?

Your online TakeLessons Affiliate account will help you track your progress and your payouts. You can view how many sales you have within a certain time period and generate reports on your progress. You can also see when the next payout will occur and how much you will earn that particular month. Back to top »

Will I get a bonus for being one of the top producing Affiliates?

What are some possible reasons my application got denied?

If you were denied from the program, one or more of the following situations may have occurred:
  • Your website and/or company did not meet specific guidelines – international, adult content, traffic/visitations are too low, etc.
  • Your company content is in direct competition with our company product and/or services
  • You have not filled out the application correctly or have not agreed to our terms and conditions

How to Become an Affiliate

  • Fill out the Affliiate Application.
  • TakeLessons will review your application and contact you to let you know your status.
  • If accepted into the program, you will be given a log-in and password to access your account online.
  • Once logged in, you can access your marketing materials and reporting tools and begin making some money!
