About accordion lessons

How to play the accordion. The ACCORDION was socially introduced in the US by Count Guido Deiro, a Vaudeville musician. The accordion is an important instrument in all types of music and is especially used in clogging, Zydeco from Cajun and African-American traditions in Louisiana in the United States, and in Polka. I have inherited my dad's accordion that was made for him in France - it's a Carpentier with the "button" keys on both sides (not the more typical "piano" keys on one side). He was a champion in his youth and had his own band.

I thought, that in his memory, I should try to learn to play it (oh, and I am now 48 myself :-)

Can you play this particular type of an accordion and teach me? I can still read music somewhat from when I took piano lessons as a kid.

Please let me know what you...

Mr. B,
My husband's Birthday will be August 17th and I would like to surprise him with live music by an accordion player. He enjoys the accordion music very much and we enjoy live music in our family parties. We usually have a guitar player. I searched in the web and found you, I hope you like to play to an audience of about 50 and that you may be available on August 17th anytime after 3 for about two hours. Please let me know if this is possible and your rate. Hope to hear from you soon

I do not own an accordian but have an interest in playing tango music and then may expand from there. I am not strong enough to play a regular sized accordian at 55 years old and would need something smaller.
I've had music training but that was about 30 years ago.
I see that all of the Bandoneon players are men and I wonder if that is because the instrument is heavy.
I am interested in lessons and advice on what instrument to buy.

H,
How are you doing? My boyfriend is really interested in learning to play the accordion. Unfortunately, in doing web searches I was unable to find very many resources regarding the purchase of accordions and the rate for lessons. You, however, stood out because you are so close. Any information that you could give me, or my boyfriend (Jeff) regarding the typical price of an accordion, where to find one, and how much you charge for lessons would be very much appreciated. in advance fo...

I took accordian lessions when I was 8-12 years old. I gradusted from Cornell in 1965 and also have a Masters Degre from DePaul in Computer Science. I have not picked up the accordian, or any instrument, in over 40 years. I still have the accordian I used as a young boy.

My wife sings in the Church choir. The Church music director is always looking for guest performers and said how wonderful it would be for me to play this Christmas. I would like to meet the challange.

Is it possible?
