I have been teaching private violin for over 20 years, and private viola/cello for about 10. I have taught in Charles and St. Mary's County Public schools. As a voice teacher and voice coach I strive to help the student get to where they want to be vocally. For me singing is something that brings me joy and I hope to be able to share that with you.

It took me a while to realize how much music and singing means to me. While studying something entirely different at the University of Maryland, I began studying voice and realized that it was something that I had a gift for. I fell in love with singing art songs, jazz and opera arias. And while studying at the University of Maryland, I had the opportunity to work as a voice teacher/ section leader with the women's section of a choir, numerous opportunities to work as a soloist and in a few jazz clubs. I was also involved in dance performances and acted as a dance tutor.

I believe everyone has the ability to sing … some better than others, of course, -- but regardless, I believe every voice can make a beautiful sound. I believe learning to sing requires team work: with the proper instruction and learning tools from me, the instructor, and with the dedication (practice, practice, practice) from you, the student, a well-rounded singer can emerge.

I began singing when I was five years old in church. I continued singing exclusively inspirational music until I was a teenager. At that time, in addition to the second soprano part I sang in a five-part harmony

My life of music started knee high at the age of 4 playing drums and piano. At the age of 15 I gave my first musical performance, from that stage on I knew my talent had found a home.

In the 11th grade I toured with a local funk group in Washington DC through 26 cities learning music and the life of travel at an early age. During my last high school and college years I performed extensively playing classical, jazz, rock, funk, go-go, gospel, marching band, R&B, and with local rap artist.

Recording credits and highlights include work with Def Jam artist Steady Eddy, recording go-go Mario with Double Agent Rock, and recordings with Little Benny and the Masters.

My musical life began during the "folk boom" of the 1960's. I began songwriting and performing during my high school years. Later I was a member of a folk-rock band called The Bean Angels. We preformed and recorded in the Iowa City, Iowa area. Later I attended Montana State University where I studied music education. My training included: piano skills, music theory, music history, aural perception, conducting, and vocal pedagogy. I have several decades experience in teaching. I have taught guitar, piano, voice, and ukulele, and have directed a children's choir.

I have been playing for about 35 years and teaching music and guitar for 25 years. I have a Bachelor of Music in Jazz and Classical guitar. I've taught at the University level and currently maintain a professional studio in Arlington, Virginia. I am very well versed in many different styles of music including, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical and Suzuki guitar. Fabio is an accomplished and experienced musician. Beginning with percussion at the age of 9, he has over 15 years rocking out behind the kit. He has played in many local bands and as well as some internationally. He is sought after for his wide variety of styles: Classic rock, Modern Rock, Alternative, Punk, Metal, Blues, Funk, and Latin. He is currently working on a Hard Rock project whom are finishing up some demos before they start gigging around the area.
Aside from drumming, Fabio has also been trained in classical and electric guitar, as well as Music theory, which he acquired while obtaining a BS Mechanical Eng/ and Acoustics.

Hrant's interests range from the solo cello repertoire to chamber music, teaching, and orchestral playing. As a teacher he has been a faculty member at Yale School of Music, 92nd Y, Summertrios Music Festival, and has held master classes at Yale and the William Blount-Slawson Competition. He has recently performed with Mark Morris Dance Group, Houston Symphony, Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, Chris Botti’s Gala Concert at the Tilles Center. Hrant, together with violinist Benjamin Sung and pianist Jihye Chang are founding members of the Arsenal Trio. Their recent performances have been at the ClefWorks Chamber Music Festival, The University of Louisville New Music Festival, and Gregory Singer Concert Series in New York.

I have a pretty musical background. My father is a bass teacher and was in the National Symphony Orchestra and my mother is a piano teacher and a elementary school music teacher. I have been taking music lessons since the age of 5 starting first with the piano, then violin at age 7, and switching my focus to viola at the age of 12. I went to Interlochen arts camp and was part of the American Youth Philharmonic before attending Shenandoah University to study Viola- Performance. I am currently in the Capital City Symphony and Washington Conservatory Orchestra and take lessons from a violist in the NSO.

I was a piano major at UNI and received a B.A. in English with a minor in music. I taught music for several years in Iowa and Pennsylvania. I have an M.A. in Reading, which has been invaluable in analyzing learning styles and teaching to each student's strengths. I have been teaching piano for over twenty five years and I'm also active in church music.

I hold a Bachelors of Fine Arts from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. With over 15 years of experience, in both piano and voice, I've had to opportunity to perform, both domestically and internationally, with such great acts as Peter Nero and The Philly Pops, The Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, and many others. I served as lead singer, pianist, and co-songwriter for a number of independent bands covering numerous genres including, but not limited to, Jazz, Pop, Rock, Acoustic, and A Capella.

Since moving to Washington DC, I've immersed myself within the local music community playing a handful of group and solo acts. I currently maintain a home music studio well equipped with musical instruments and music technology. I'm constantly practicing, writing, and recording to improve myself as an artist.
