Many of them perform in nightclub venues, theme parks, and theatres in the Central Florida area. One of my former students, just opened for Lisa Loeb's concert in downtown Orlando. This same student, John, has 2 albums of his own, and several students are signed by recording labels and touring. I teach weekly lessons, with daytime and evening hours available, Monday through Friday. I recommend an hour lesson. I give vocalizations to practice and develop good technique. Repertoire/songs are chosen by the student and myself. I encourage students to be well-rounded and try different genres/styles and even give me a "wish list" of songs they would like to learn. I give guidelines on how much to practice and what to practice. I help train the student's eye and ear and work with harmonizations/parts, if needed. I help the student to develop their voice with strength, stamina, clarity, resonation, expressiveness, and emotional impact. Progress will be continually evident throughout the students' study. Lessons are recorded on CD for every lesson, as this is a great efficient learning tool.
I teach in the classical bel canto style and technique, which is how I was trained at Indiana University. I have been teaching all genres, including pop/rock, classical, jazz, country, r&b, and gospel/contemporary christian/traditional sacred.
