I recently finished my undergraduate work at the University of Montana and have moved down to Phoenix to study at Arizona State University. I trained in the Bel Canto style, and therfore focus on the classical side of voice. I also have a keen interest in musical theater and try to keep one toe in that world as well. I have had several operatic and musical theater roles during my studies. My experience has taught me the importance of incorporating fun into lessons, as well as techniques to keep students involved and interested in learning music.

As my headline suggests, I believe anyone can sing. All it takes is someone pulling you into the right direction and a little work ethic. Whether you are looking to get into the professional musical scene or looking to be cast in a community musical, I can help!

My lessons vary depending on the need of the student. I always strive to come to the best possible understanding of the student's goals so I can create effective lessons for him or her. If someone is taking lessons just for fun I will be more casual and keep the subject matter light and fun while still teaching the basics of singing. I also am able to really work someone into shape if he or she is willing to work hard. I am a firm believer that students will get as much out of a teacher as they want. I will work hard to teach you what you need to do to become a better singer and I expect you to put in a similar effort.

During lessons I concentrate mainly on basic technique, including a thorough warm-up, while still learning plenty of songs. I try to choose songs that are in the student's interests, but will require that a student try other genres because you never know what they might end up liking!
