Dejana R. Violin, Beginning Piano San Diego, CA

Diana D., born in Serbia, started playing the violin at the age of four. She was accepted into the School for Musically Gifted children at the age of seven. During the time she spent at this school, she won many prizes and performed all over Europe, including  Macedonia, Hungary, Greece, Belgium, Holland, Germany,Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro.

After graduating in 2003 she emigrated to the United States where she studied with the violinist and conductor Droston Hall at the Hall School Of Music in Wheaton,Illinois. There she lead the string quartet and was a concert master of the chamber orchestra. She also worked with the pianist William Billingham, the director of the Lyric Opera Of Chicago. In the summer of 2003 she performed and recorded a CD with The Young Trio, a classical three-piece with Celtic and new age influences.

In 2006 she moved to San Diego where she was awarded with a scholarship and a leadership position in the San Diego Youth Symphony and Philharmonia, with whom she is currently performing. She's also teaching violin, viola, and piano at the Chula Vista Academy of Music.

I think that I am more strict than laid back, but I try to always make it fun and enjoyable for my students. I make jokes, but also encourage excellence and independence. They will learn discipline, several pieces to perform perfectly, theory, reading and writing music.

I teach Suzuki Method for string instruments and any method for piano.
