Originally from the Dominican Republic, I moved to the Midwest when I was 19 to pursue a Music Education career. I am fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Italian.
I have been involved in music since a very young age. At 15, I began teaching music at a private music school in the D.R. I taught voice, early childhood, theory, appreciation, piano, keyboard, and recorder. When I finish my music studies in the D.R. I moved to Iowa to begin my B.A. in Music Education-Vocal at Luther College.
I performed with numerous choirs and groups, and in different stages. I was part of Three Penny Opera, Die Fledermaus, Steet Scene, and others including multiple private recitals.
I work at an Independent School District in the Twin Cities area and have now been teaching voice for more than 7 yrs.
My lessons consist of different breathing exercises, vocalizations, sight reading, and piece coaching. Each lesson I planned according to the student's needs and it will go as fast as the student progresses. I expect each student to practice on a daily basis and to come to each lesson prepared.
After 3 months the student will be able to identify his/her strengths as a singer, as well as use the voice properly as a music instrument.
