Music is my passion!!

In a small wooden desk on the far right side of an old elementary classroom, I learned the meaning of music--not through the precision of notes on a page of sheet music or the rhythm of a beaten drum, but through the powerful emotion that emanated from my music teacher captivating the heart of every student in our classroom--especially me. When Mr. Williams played the piano, amazement filled the atmosphere. He was the first person I had even known to a make a piano talk--the first human hands to hammer a row of keys and kindle joy, giving music life...

Studying music composition at the University of Michigan, School of Music helped me to mature as a composer while cultivating my capacity for musical creativity, theoretical analysis, and my skills as a pianist. As a guest speaker for a number of public schools, I have shared my beginnings as a composer and pianist, stressing the importance of music expression and education.

Following in the footsteps of the music teachers that changed my life, I look to positively change the lives of my students. I am looking for serious students looking for a way to express themselves in music, just like I was in a small wooden desk on the far right side of an old elementary classroom...
