Alice L. music, Cello Roslyn Heights, NY

Cellist, Alice is a graduate of Manhattan School of Music where she studied with Julia Lichten and David Geber. She has attended summer programs such as Boston University Tanglewood Institue and Aspen Music Festival and School. She was also a member of the New York Youth Symphony (under Paul Haas)and The Children's Orchestra Society(directed by Dr. Yeou-Cheng Ma) for several years. Her early training was as a Suzuki violin student and after a year she switched to the cello and played in Nicole DiCecco's Suzuki Chamber Orchestra throughout her elementary and middle school years.

Alice is a prizewinner in the Long Island Philharmonic Young Artist's Competition and was a winner of the Children's Orchestra Society's Discovery Artist Competition and subsequently made her solo debut at Alice Tully Hall playing Haydn C Major's Cello Concerto. Alice also was featured on Robert Sherman's Young Artist Showcase on WQXR performing The Haydn C Major Concerto.  She has performed the Beethoven Triple Concerto and Saint Saens Cello Concerto under George Marriner Maull and members of the New York Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra.

Alice has participated in chamber music master classes for Daniel Phillips, Fred Sherry, Ida Kavafian, and David Geber. Alice's students have successfully taken NYSSMA exams and attended All-County and Long Island String Festivals and have also gone on to Manhattan School of Music Pre-College.
