About Me

Christina, a violin player, has always had a passion for music and to help others. With close to 20 years of musical study and a Bachelors Degree in Music she has been able to do just that. Christina has study at various schools and Colleges for Music a few are but not limited to; Alabama School of Fines, Converse College, Queens University of Charlotte, and Meredith College.  Christina was introduced to music through the Music Opportunity Program at the age of 10. Besides her primary instrument of the violin, she has proficient skills in piano, guitar, percussion instruments and voice.

Christina Has taught for Birmingham Southern Music Conservatory, Alabama School of Fine Arts Music Opportunity Program, North Shelby Baptist Church Performing Arts School and has enjoyed every one she has met. Because of her major and minor in Music Therapy and Psychology Christina is also able to teach adaptive music lessons for children or adults that are vision impaired, or are special needs (physically, mentally or have some disability). The adaptive music lessons include learning piano, violin, and guitar. Adaptive music lessons can also be group social learning experience with various percussion instruments and activities.  Christina has been doing adaptive music lessons for 11 years through her study of music therapy/psychology.

Lesson Details

Teacher is a laid back, fun, and loving teacher.

Purpose of String class (violin)- teach students the basics of music reading while learning to play violin. Students will be able to identify

1. nonplaying skills such as care of instrument, and cleaning the instrument to name a few

2. Playing Skills- Instrument hold and position, left hand position, motion bow

3. music reading skills- note names and where they are located on the staff, and various rhythms

More advance students will strengthen these skills

Adaptive Lesson children or adults will learn to play an instrument and work on some of the same things as above but each case is different.

Adaptive group with the various percussion instruments works on social, cognitive, physical, and emotional aspects through a fun enviroment of music and movement.
