Three ways to get started

As it is, we will never stop learning, and I have been a student of the guitar for over half of my own life now. My initial stages of study were mostly self taught, with only the music that I loved to guide me. It did not take me long to come to realize that the patterns and inflections of the great language of music were to forever intrigue me. I have since studied music at Arizona State, Scottsdale Community, and Northern Arizona University.
I am possessed by a very strong enthusiasm for the power of music. It happens to be a subject that i could speak of for a very long time. I could not expect that my enthusiasm is matched, but i would surely care to see at least a little. I am capable of understanding what kind of pace my students are capable of, so surely i will place some expectation that students return to the next lesson with understanding and dedication to what was learned before.
I have an adaptable curriculum that can accelerate however feels natural. Beginners, of course, will focus on technique and basic introduction to the guitar's possibilities. Once we are more comfortable with these things can start to discuss concepts in music theory and applying them to the guitar (i may integrate some piano for theoretical purposes, if a piano or keyboard is handy). It will also be likely that I would recommend a book that is suited to your needs. It would fulfill me to see students walking away with a strong appreciation for music and a thirst to know more.
