About Me

Started playing bass at age 11 in Colorado. Moved to WV at age 13 and played in junior high band. Age 17 moved back to Colorado to pursue life as a bass player. By age 18 I had played on over 5 tours with Death metal band "Skinned" and had played/recorded with other bands (Squirrel&busta's metalic splunk, AIMS Jazz band, epiphany in winter, Transfusion Wildphyr, Black Havoc, and alot more unsigned bands) while teaching 7 students privitely in 2005 moved to Hollywood to attend Musician's Institute (BIT Grad and RAP Grad) I've come a long way since, playing and recording with various artists and bands from Metal to Jazz and a little of everything in between. My areas of expertise are, Theory and Ear Training, Styles of bass, SLAP BASS, Fretless Bass, Reading, Composition/songwriting, Technique, Equipment Maintenance, And most important... FUN!!!

Lesson Details

I like to make learning fun, I'd like everyone to play to their favorite cd, impress their friends, and become a good, well rounded bass player. I'll teach you your fretborad, reading, techniqe, theory, ear-training, groving, slap, as well as maintance, improvising, songwriting, and maybe some recording tricks. or if you just feel like jammin I'm also down for some extra free time.

• Physical Technique: Right Hand Left Hand Coordination, Slap and Pop, Double Thumbing, Artificial and Natural Harmonics, Banjo style Plucking, Taping, Sweeping, Double Stops, and Exercises to build strength, stamina, and Control.

• Mental Aspects: Harmony, Theory, Ear Training, Scales, Modes, Building Chords, Using Altered Tunings, Improv bass lines and Modal Soloing, Fretboard memorization, Four Part Writing, Odd Time

• Musical Styles: Classical, Jazz, Punk, Death Metal, Hard Rock, Blues, Latin Styles, Drum and Bass, Electronica, Jamming, Walking Bass, Funk, Disco, Reggae, Country and Western. Song Writing, Arranging,

• Reading: Charts, Writing Charts, Music Notation, Bass and Treble Clef, Rhythm, TAB, and Your drummers MIND!

• All the Other: Recording and Production Techniques (mic placement, the mysteries of EQ, Logic, the Grove thats in the Pocket, Sampling, Making Beats and Looping, Instrument Maintenance, Power Practice and Advanced Learning Tactics, Improving Live Sound Quality, and some Things about the Business, Touring and Promoting your self. And having fun!
