Learning music should be fun, challenging, and ultimately rewarding for both the student and the teacher. I like to work with the student first to determine what their goals would be, or what they want to learn and gain from the lessons.I try to adapt to lessons to make it enjoyable as well as productive, and informative with an emphasis on development of good habits, technique, and musicianship. Then we work together learning the fundamentals of the instrument and how to read music. We play songs and pieces to make the music exciting and utilize our fundamentals and theory. With daily practice, patience and hard work from the student and teacher, the student will reach their goals successfully.
I enjoy teaching classical as well as jazz. I love working with musicians that are getting ready for a big audition or solo coming up, or if you just want to work on a special song for someone and beginning guitar Also, I teach in small and large combo groups/ensembles.
Saxophone, flute, clarinet, guitar
Students 7 to 99 years old.
To whom it may concern;
David Hayes has been my saxophone teacher for approximately one year. During this time, he has been reliable and prepared. David plays the sax beautifully. he has been an inspiration for me and has truly motivated me. He's kept me focused in a fun and enjoyable way. If not for him, I probably would have given up. I highly recommend David as he is a wonderful person as well as musician.
