David is part of a new generation of classical guitarists who embrace the rigors of classical study along with the stylistic variety that is part of the instrument's heritage and character. Styles as diverse as folk, jazz, rock and classical have brought him to venues as diverse as the eminent Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the top Denver jazz club "Dazzle" and the cozy settings of theatres coffee houses throughout the metro area.
An early love for Paul Simon inspired David to pursue his song-writing craft, while an abiding love for his instrument led to serious classical study. David received a B. A. in guitar performance from Colorado Christian University, and has recently been accepted for graduate study at the University of Denver.
Over 6 years of teaching experience with students ranging from age 6 to adult and of beginning to advanced ability has given David a unique approach and a personalized focus for each student. You can learn any style, including folk, rock jazz and classical, or learn a little bit of each.
Rather than just teaching you patterns to memorize, David helps you understand the principles behind the patterns. You can learn faster this way, and it immediately opens up paths for further learning. He develops a curriculum specific to each student in order to help them reach their specific goals in the fastest and most long-lasting way possible. He also helps teach you the tools often over-looked by other teachers, including practical guitar problem-solving, the skill of practicing and creativity.
Classical, Folk, Rock, Jazz, and Popular styles.

We are inspired.” -Bev & Barry, Concert-Goers “David has been a wonderful teacher and influence on my son in teaching him to play the bass guitar. My son is now excited about learning this instrument, and loves his lessons with David. I would highly recommend David to anyone for instruction.” -Laurie, student's parent "...I want you to know how much we enjoyed your DVD performance--you're a fine young artist and you should feel very good about how well you're playing.
