Hello....Buenas! Bendeciones!..........Blessings! My name is Luis Ricardo and my nucleus instrument are the Congas or the real known name, the "Tumbadoras". I have been playing/performing my instrument/craft for over 18 years now and educating for 6 years. I have played/performed with Artists such as Arturo Sandoval, Nestor Torres, Giovanni Hidalgo, and countless others. I am able to apply my skills to all genres of music from classical to hip-hop and all in between(Salsa, Rumba, Funk, Latin-Jazz, Jazz, Soul, Etc.,etc.). Crisp sounds of the drum that resonate and cut through most bands. You will NOT be disappointed. I GUARANTEE IT.

   As an instructor, you will find me very detail oriented and full of information, so bring a pencil and pad to write down alot of information, but, I am not by any means your 7th grade biology teacher or your college chemistry professor. I am your friend teaching you how to conquer this instrument and preparing you for the road of a musician or percussionist. I like taking on the trial and error approach. I see what you are capable of doing, then we break it down from there. From applying drum rudiments to help exercise muscles that were never thought of using and controlling your drum strikes and applying power at the same time. After 4 months of average of 2 visits per week, you will be able to take the initiative to keep teaching "yourself" and you will be able to hold your own in any percussion group or band. You will have learned the basic sounds of the drum, the basic rhythms in latin, and applying those to different genres of music. You will also learn how to adapt to any style of music and compliment any style of music with your style of playing. You will also learn stage presence and the key element to all, controlling of your emotions when you are playing(applying emotions to actual drum hits to express yourself more freely).
